the story said it was an electric fence that the farmer installed after a couple of sheep dissapeared. THe mouth and teeth on that thing are scary.

Obviously, the electric fence is a threat to the wildlife.

The wire on the fence is tied directly to the rebar post , the fence aint electric, if it is the breaker tripped. Direct short to ground.

Looks more like the snake's goat filled belly would not fit between the wires.

Look at the top picture. There are multiple strands. The outside lines hve insulators and would be hot. The insider is grounded.

Works the same way people used to die drilling holes in walls. Tools not properly insulated, 2 strand power wire. Bit hits a water pipe and that makes a better return ciruit through the tool casing and operator. PhZap!

That's how i see it anyway. Also there is some charring in the mouth. I dont think the sun would get it that hot.

I keep reading in the paper that pythons similar to this are breeding and thriving in the Everglades. There was a picture of one ruptured from the inside by an alligator it had just eaten. That was nasty!

Burmese pythons can get huge in the Everglades.

Couldn't have too much of an e fence is it allowed that snake, moving very slow with a full belly, to crawl that far thru it. I would expect the snake to back up after the first zap...but then I ain't from Texas and I don't know squat about snake-skin boots or e fences.

We have snake wire on the ground at our sub station to keep the snakes off the switch gear.
We run a single matt of chicken wire [ 24" wide ] continuous around the gear/towers , on top of that a single run of 3/4" PVC down the center with a screw about every two feet to stretch the hot wire on [ the chicken wire is the ground.

We get snakes , frogs, and other critters. They die right quick and in a hurry.

Shut the power off before ya try and remove them.
