Default Diff between Jersey Pickup BBQ and Texas Pickup BBQ

Summer Friday....

Here at Themis Trading we made ourselves a nice lunchtime backyard BBQ in my pickup.

Not to be outdone, a customer of mine sent me his in Houston, TX.

I hate Texas.

I don't know Sal, I think you are the winner........you don't have to worry about theft and your tail gate definitely swings down! Besides, what can he make that you can't?

Texas pit looks like a gator pit. http://www.gatorpit.net/
On my list, but at $800 for a pit, it will be a while. They are susposed to be a damn good pit.
They also make trailer pits, the funny stuff is seeing one going down the road smoking. I guess some people need all the cooking time they can get.

I was following a trailer smoker up I-35 a few weeks ago. His smoker door had come un-latched and he was dropping hot coals all over the interstate. The driver didn't seem to notice at all. He was probably a bit upset, though, when he got to his cook-out with no fire left! Wire them dang doors shut!!!!

You caint BBQ on a grill. BBQ is low and slow, think 220F for 7 hrs. A grill is for steak, think hot and quick.

I'm going to buld my own smoker - concreted blocks and dirt double wall thick - so I can do it year round even when it's 10 degrees out....
