Default Hey Ray and Glen

Apple is on the move again - up ~4.5% last I checked.

Nothing like news of a 55% GPM on the iphone to help move the shares along.

Ray -

Thought I'd check the local apple store today and they had one - 8 G unit and it's all it's cracked up to be - the web is fast enuf using my home wi-fi system and you can actually read and answer any forums or web pages you want. it is legible. Camera is good for docs and email works fine. Typing on the virtual keyboard works well after getting the hang of it. It activated via the website 2 min after I finished filling out my info. Old phone went off - new phone came on...

A few flaws I can see is the screen gets full of fingerprints as it is reg glass...also no video out for TV, MFD screens, etc...gotta find a good navprotector w/ matte finish to see if that helps...

Wife says I have to wait 30 days to buy my Iphone, until the dust settles in my checking account after buying the new Land Cruiser.

Todays AAPL downturn woulda bought me a few IPhones but that’s OK, the bumpy ride, real soon, to $150.00 a share makes it all worth while and all my bucks stay right where they are.

You and me pal. . . . . and a few others with the proper “risk/reward” system.

Should have bought at 85, then 100, then 110 then 120 but now am scared at 130! Cramer says AAPL is one of the rare growth stocks that is available and worth the price...and he says it's going to 150!

I am glad I got in Apple when I did and wish it were sooner.

For what it is worth, and this is only my opinion - I think Apple will settle in around the $130.00 range for a while as I think most inflection points are priced in the shares already.

Now that we know the i-phone is selling, that the margin is ~55% or so, the next logical question is can Apple turn these sales and margins into free cash flow.

Glen,

you should get the iqase film for the iphone. There is actually a demo of it on youtube. I just put it on yesterday and it's pretty good.

Apple is warning users of its hot new iPhone that contact files stored in the digital communicator's software may not synchronize properly with their Microsoft Outlook files on PCs.
In a technical bulletin posted on its Web site, Apple said iPhone's contact software won't play nicely with Microsoft Outlook on a number of fronts.

For instance, Apple said that because Outlook limits the number of URLs that can be associated with a given contact, some URLs added to an iPhone contact may not show up in Outlook after the data has been synchronized.

Apple also cautions that contacts created with iPhone's "Custom" labeled phone numbers feature will show up in Outlook's "Other" files because of software incompatibilities between the two platforms.

Additionally, if notes in an iPhone contact record contain any blank lines, unexpected formatting -- such as bold text -- may occur when the data is ported from iPhone's software to Outlook.

Brad Bargman of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, who waited in line 9 hours Friday to buy his phone, said excitement turned to dismay when the device stubbornly refused to activate, meaning it can't be used.

"It's a real buzz kill," said Bargman, adding that repeated calls to AT&T failed to get the device to work. "Now I'm soured on it a little bit."

David Clayman, the third person in line at Apple's flagship Manhattan store, said he was still unable to activate his iPhone a day later, probably because he couldn't update the Apple software on his computer needed to start the process

The iPhone, which costs $500 or $600 depending on memory capacity, is activated through a process handled by AT&T Inc.(T) , the phone's exclusive carrier for two years, in Apple's iTunes online music store.

In a sign of strong initial demand, AT&T said it had sold almost all its phones within hours of the device going on sale at its 1,800 stores. The company did not say how many units it had sold.

Asked about problems some buyers were having, AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel said the "vast majority" of customers were able to use their phones within minutes.

"There are some whose activation process is being delayed and that's something that can happen in a launch like this and we're resolving those on a case-by-case basis," Siegel said.
