Default apple phone -?

Ok everybody knows I love Apple and I have a personality disorder (LOL).....but the phone thing is perplexing - will I get it? probably in time.... but how about the following scenario:

1. I'm on the Woody jet and watching a movie on it - I drain the phone batt - no phone when I get off the plane...no good

2. I'm on the boat and using the phone to play tunes - someone calls and I need to talk - everything stops and the guests have no tunes? everyone waiting for me?

Not sure I want an all in one unit....

So I'm still getting on the boat or the jet with the phone and an ipod...Hmmmmm

PS joe...boat below that I dont fill up at the gas station and paid for by apple stock but you knew that - have fun with your trailer....

Do you really want or need all that crap on a phone? Not me,my life is so complicated and confused as it is,I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible. Can you imagine the problems they are going to have with first generation of these things?Just give me phone.

Yea! I want to spend $500 for a cell phone. At least then I can play music when the phone drops a call because the network it is on still sucks.

I-Phone, proving once and again old people are 100% correct when they say "a fool and their money are soon parted". I learned to listen to wisdom of old people when one told me "you are going to set your hand on fire if you keep doing that" and then 5 minutes later set my hand on fire.

I agree with you Glen......heck, I don't use 75% of the functions on my Treo 755....all I want is a phone and my email. Ist generation problems, too many features I will never need or use (much like Windows), who the hell wants to watch a TV on a 3" screen........nope, I don't think I am in Apples target market. To the people that waited days in line to be the first to buy one of these contraptions, I say......get a life.

I've had a phone now for a year that plays music (while on or off the network) gets coverage in 99% of the country and has yet to drop a call, looks killer, can support 2+ gigs of music, takes pictures, gives me voice turn by turn gps navigation, surfs the internet, doubles as a high speed broadband modem for my laptop (so that I can get the REAL REAL ineternet) and it cost me a fortune! Yep a whole $49.00

I love all my Mac stuff. But I'll be dammed if I'm standing in line for anything. Word in my circle of Mac geek friends is by Christmas the price will be down $150.00 and a 20 gig version will be out.

The point is... When I am at work I can toss my phone in my pocket with my bluetooth on. Put on my Sony Bluetooth earbuds and walk around and do my job without disturbing anyone.. I can even leave the phone on the desk and walk 30 to 40' away and still get crystal clear music (and the headphones control tracks, pause, play etc..) and when a call comes through I just hit one button, I can take the call and as soon as the call is over, the music auto resumes.

But it's not an i-Phone...
