Default Whatís the secret guys?

I am so stressed out and in the dumps I canít think clearly and I taste dirt! F#@k Me I hurt through and through!

I know buying a house can be stressful, but I never imagined being kicked around like a small chunk of ice on the road. I have about as much enthusiasm for this new house as being next in line to be road kill. F#@k Me. If someone was keeping score I swear it would be 2 to 85 against me! My two points comes from, I found the house I was looking for and I only paid 3k above my original asking price......thatís where the good news ends!

Iíve never ran across a more f#@king disgusting bunch of people which call themself human in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just F#@king shoot me, for I alined myself with every single one of them!

If I had the strength to climb on top of the highest granular of dirt in this ditch Iím in to holler at the top of my lungs, I would but I donít have the strength to do the climb!

How do you guys constantly stick you head out the car window at 60 mph to knock off mail boxes and yet have the strength to pucker up for the next 100??? So no wonder why people donít use their signal lights in vehicles these days

.............................10 days later and I still donít know if I own the house I think I bought? But one thing is for certain, come this July 18th I have to be out of my current house.

Can you elaborate on that? I thought you closed and had moved in?

Mass murder works for me, but its really not for everyone.

Garett,

Look at it like this - these people are currently controlling you. Not because they truly can, but because you are allowing them to. The process may not be yours to dictate, but your interaction in, and response to, that process is very much yours.

Straight answers from salepersons are seldom present, and for whatever reasons, real estate persons and mortgage companies seem to hold the rights to that. Right now you have to get a grip and complete the process. If you are running into surprise after surprise, then be honest with yourself about the level of homework and preparation you did. Bring that level up, now, if it is lacking. Let the people you are dissatisfied with know it. Calmly, clearly and concisely. If you feel something illegal is taking place, force the issue, or withdraw from the deal.

I was just kidding about the mass murder thing. Never whacked more than 4 people at a time in my life. I swear.

That's why they made large capacity firearms. You Canadian folk don't get that part of the solution.

One needs to relax.
One needs to learn how to distrust his/her broker and lawyer.
One needs to relay on instinct and gut feelings.
One needs to focus on what is important.
One needs to react to a threat.

Then you will see grasshopper.

Garrett,
Think first. Then react. Don't get caught up in a moment. Look at the big picture. How bad do you want it?

Most realtors are bottom feeders. Treat them as such. Put as much of the burden you are dealing with on them - its their commission check on the line. Deal with the suckers all the time . (Actually, I own a brokerage - but its just my wife, and we only buy/sell our stuff. We all know who's the boss in MY house...her!)

Hope things get better Garret. I have a beautiful new house I can sell ya...

I have found the secret to getting through life with the least amount of stress is understanding that.......

ďEVERYONE WORKS IN HIS/HER OWN BEST INTERESTď

Stress is the result of assuming someone might actually work in YOUR best interest, a trap most folks fall into in most financial dealings.

Lawyers are a classic example of folks who exploit the ďIím working in YOUR best interestď game.

Does this make one an avowed skeptic?...... Yes, always the skeptic, every day in every way.

Garrett, As far as I know in Canada there are "full disclosure" laws for real estate. So if there are problems popping up now, you should be covered. I do not know what is going on in your particular situation, but the first thing you need to do is sit down and take some deep breaths. I am sure between your agent and your lawyer, everything has been covered. If it hasn't been, it should rest on their shoulders, not yours. Remember that they work for you and should be making this as stress free as possible. Sit down and make a list of the things that are causing you so much stress. In the morning you need to calmly talk to your agent and lawyer and tell them to fix things. That what they are paid to do. You posted the beautiful pictures of your new home and were so enthusiastic. Don't let them take this joy away from you. I am sure it will all work out. Chill and let them do their jobs. Good luck & enjoy. Sheila

Dunno the problem Garrett, go take a walk or run. When I start to feel beat up by a buyer or seller (I buy, sell & broker heavy equipment) I back up and examine the deal or thing as objectively as possible. Sometimes you just have to figure in the aggrivation as part of the price you pay to achieve your goal. Once I decide okay the agg is worth the goal, I have to go thru this BS to get there, the agg seems much more tolerable.

I went through the same crap when buying my house. We purchased our house the day after thanksgiving and set a closing date of January 15th. On the 13th I still didn't know whether or not I had a house to move into. My mortgage approval still didn't go through, and the previous owners didn't start packing yet. It was a mess from every perspective. The financing company kept asking for different paperwork on a weekly basis and it just seemed like EVERYONE had their heads up their a$$es. I have to say the 2 weeks prior to moving in were extremely stressful for me. Not to mention the "For Sale" sign was on the front lawn of the house up until we moved in. Very aggravating for a first time home buyer. In the end, everything worked out. Good luck!

Garrett,
Been thru a lot of house buying trials and believe me they have always worked out for the best. If a deal is meant to be it will happen - if not something better will work out.

When we were younger wife and I fell in love with a beautifu house on the best street in town. Estate sale - poor fellow died in his bed. Hurricane Bob tore off a couple roof slates that caused a small water leak into the bedroom ceiling - no biggie. Wife and I spent an entire week end cleaning up the house (old guy not much into house keeping , no remaining family either) so it would look good for the bank appraiser. House was spotless when he toured the place. He mentions the leak and missing roof slates - we hand him a written estimate from a top house restoration contractor to make necessary repairs ($2-3,000 to make the fix). Wife and I are both architects and had just restored another victorian house in town so we figured we had it all covered. 3 weeks go by and we get a letter from the bank - they wont mortgage the house because of the roof situation. What the %$^%!. We amke calls to the mortage guy, the bank president the R.E. broker - long story short they tell us to get the roof fixed before the closing and they will be ok - we tell them to pound sand as we're not gonna pay to fix a roof we dont own yet. Took every cent we had out of the bank and never looked back. Ultimately found a better house in a better neighborhood and have lived happily ever after these past 16 years.

Good luck and dont sweat the small stuff!

I've bought them. I've built them. I've remodelled them. I've sold them. Its ALWAYS stressful.

Just remember, Someday, this too will come to pass. When you look back on it later, you will hardly remember all the niggling and aggravating details that are clogging your mind right now. Just take one step at a time, and you will get there. Good luck.
