"Only God knows why", I don't at all believe that to be a true statement. Actually I think it was a mindless idiot that titled that clip!

Individuals run their homes or business (if applicable) with a sense of purpose and yet the world leaders offer nothing up to unite the people......there is no goal, there is no plan and there certainly is no movement. I'm not referencing blind mindless sheep, I'm referring to a common goal. There is all this talk about a better world, a better way of life or world peace, yet no effort is set forth to achieve such goals. No goal can ever be achieved if there is no game plan in place for such goals.

We don't shoot our neighbor, why then do we shoot our neighbors?

And I was hoping you would just enjoy it for what it is.
The parts I enjoyed was watching a soldier holding that little boy or the soldier buying the case of pops from one of the locals........but I'm not sure if I can say I enjoyed watching a town/ city get blown apart and people being killed! Yes I know war is what it is, but for some reason I don't associate war and pleasure in the same sentence. (fault me if my views are different then yours.....which is ok)

I felt the video clip was informative and well done; but personally I take no enjoyment in watching the destruction of life and society as a unit. Personally I find watching such stuff rather sobering, much the same way I do watching a clip of a town ravaged from a natural disaster.

Thanks Bug. May God keep our young men and women close to him.

Garett...

I've many times supported the stances you have taken. But I will diverge from you on this one. I witnessed first hand the attack on the trade center on 9/11/01. What I don't understand is how people within my country can not understand that we are fighting these people on a field of battle of our choosing and not theirs. Those scenes of fighting within a town or city could very well be on our soil. It is not because we are there. If people are naive enough to think that if we pull out it all ends and talking will solve everything then we are in for a very rude awakening when we do. I thank God that we have young men and women who are willing to put it all on the line for our very freedoms. I have my problems with gov't...everyone here knows my position. But I support our troops and the decisions to choose our field of battle. So while seeing battles up close is a sobering sight, it also celebrates those sacrifices made by our young men and women (and yours too). I will now step off the soap box and return this thread to others.

Besides I expect Hydro or AdamT along shortly to yell "foul".

Edit: to correct a spelling.
