Default What is the best and easiest way to polish copper?

We have a pair of copper gas lights outside our front door and they have not been polished in years. I tried my Dremmel with the metal polish disc and the polish that came with it. It did a goog job of removing the tarnish on a two inch section after 20 minutes of polishing. It would take me a week at that rate. Is there anything any of you may have used to polish copper quick and easy ?

Thanks,
Skeeter

there's common stuff in the supermarket that's used for copper-bottomed pots and pans. After you're done, you might consider spraying a coat of clear lacquer on it to prevent fast oxidization.

Well, really it is a win-win for everyone. You win because you get whatever cleaned; woman wins because she can’t feel ‘whole’ unless she occasionally exercises her genetic predisposition to clean.

I remember growing up polishing the bottom of mom's pots with a product called "Twinkle." Not a product name I would go hunting around a store saying out lout, mind you...!

Brasso if you don't want to mess with mixing vinegar, salt and water.

Ketchup and lemon juice work, just apply and let sit, then rinse off. Reapply as needed. There is a product to clean copper that works well and is made by the folks who make Barkeeper's Friend.

THere is some stuff out there called never dull works great on my brass duty belt and you do not have to rub that hard . You can pick a can up at ACE hardware for about $5:00 and it will last you forever.
