An exit door search will never escalate into more than an inconvenience.........However.......

It is some consolation, by “just patting my hip” that if push comes to shove and my life is threatened my 32 cal Kel-Tec is on my hip to, in the final respect, protect me and mine. Yes I (and wife) have Tennessee concealed gun carry permits. Shoot someone?, yep, if a bad guy ever points a gun (or any other lethal weapon) at us.

If more good law abiding citizens were licensed to carry a gun, more bad guys would be less likely to commit personnel crimes against citizens.

One of my favorite laws is “use a gun in the commission of a crime, go to jail”.

What in the heck does showing a receipt while exiting Walmart have to do with carrying a concealed firearm???

I let em play their game at the “exit” door, yep it’s an inconvenience but lotsa things in life are.

I do appreciate someone with bigger balls than mine who fights for my rights not to be detained for a stupid exit door search.

I work some retail for something to do in retirement, and I can tell you that if no one would steal, they might be able to paid the employees more, all I can say that the amount stolen is incredible. I just did a research e-mail for Sams Club and I complained about the security, now I know that it is needed but a more evasive security system would be more appropriate.

Hey, if ole' tea-smokin Ray shoots a greeter at Wal-Mart in the future for asking to check his receipt, will that be a "personnel" crime since she was employed by Wal-Mart or a hate crime since he made his views public that he hates Wal-Mart greeters who ask to check his receipt?

A friend of mine was the security manager at a Target store years back. He said that most theft is from their own employees. They had cameras pointed at the cash registers.

I was wheeling a load of groceries out of Walmart one evening with my wife when the alarm goes off as we are going through the first set of doors. I quickly look at the greeter and say WTF, then turn and continue walking out of the store. I was ready for a confrontation but no one came to give me my satisfaction. I was rather disapointed.

I used to be an asst. manager at a K-Mart many years ago. No doubt employee theft was a big issue, but I can't tell you how many times I watched people who would take large boxed items and stuff them full of little items before going through a checkout line to pay for the big item.

Either that or they would switch box contents and get something higher priced than what was supposed to be in the box. At least scanners have helped with price tag changes which were always popular.

I say you should be thankful that large retailers like Wal-Mart don't check your items more thoroughly than they do now. Many items will set off an alarm if they are not scanned at the check-out, but it looks like all items could be security coded to save the merchant and the customer a lot of grief. Seems that would save them money in the long run.

I dropped my truck off at Walmart's service center a couple weeks ago for a basic oil change. While shopping around for a while they called my name over the store intercom to report to automotive. I figured they had my truck ready but they had some papers for me to sign because they said my oil was over a quart low. i had checked my oil the day before & it did not show that it was a quart low but I didn't say any thing I just singed where he told me to. I guess they were afraid that I would try to sue them if my engine blew up after I left??
About 30 min later I won an argument with him about whether or not my truck was ready to be picked up after I got my pointacross to him that I had observed them exiting the service area with it and parking it in the parking lot about 10 min before. Before he would give me my keys he pulled out some more paperwork for me to sign saying I was told that my rear tires were bad. While not as new as my front ones my rear tires have good tread and are not bad but I didn't say anything I just signed where he told me to. I guess they thought if I had a wreck because of my "bad" rear tires that I would try to sue them because I had my oil changed there?? I stop by for an oil change & they think I'm John Edwards or something??
Ray: I'm glad you & your wife exercise your 2nd amendment rights. I've been a member of the NRA for a long time. Also.... If an encounter with the little old lady at the exit door ever escalates from an inconvenience into a situation you can show her your other "reciept". (j/k)

not to be mean but doesn't walmart offer second chances to convicted felons as future employees? Haha just kidding. But here in Hawaii they hire crackheads off the streets that needs a job. I guess they are that desperate. In fact a german lady with the rudest attitude and nastiest demeanor is the head cashier. While paying for my goods I had one item I didn't want. She rudely and forcefully told me to run back and put it back in the fridge (a can of soda...wtf????) I told her off after putting it back for inconveniencing me and the other 10 people in line, told the front end manager the situation and all that the manager did was smile and do NOTHING!!!!! Now I go in only to look at the MILFS walking around since getting a can of Pepsi can be a headache.

hey Ray I'm lifetime member NRA but give the old folks at Walmart a break if they saw your gun they would have a heart attack. As for showing the reciept I won a bet with the wife I showed them a advanced auto reciept I had in my pocket and the guy looks at it says O.K. I love Wal-Mart they miss marked their Penn Slammer rods to 25.00 bucks a piece and I jumped on 4 of them. They had to give them to me at that price.

Of course i understand a joke, Pudgy, i read your posts from time to time and its pretty hard not to laugh at all of them. Its pretty predictable that you would rush in to defend a racist comment.

Walmart say's 3 billion will be lost this year alone.
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070613/wal_m...eft.html?.v=11

It will cost them even more know that they invest in Brazil.
the merchandise trucks have a hard time reaching the stores, somehow they dissapear with the cargo between warehouse and store.....

Walmart bought over 200 supermarkets in brazil......
I wish them luck....

I hate Walmart
I would rather pay more for something in a better atmosphere. To make matters worse, My in-laws moved from Brooklyn to Fl about 2 years after the Mrs and I moved down from Long Island. They both ended up working for Walmart. Unfortunately my mother law is in her 5th year of fighting Cancer so she does not work anymore.

My Father in law on the other hand.......
I don't like the guy - never have well that is a little strong, lets just say that if her were not my father in law I would not be associating with him.

Well anyway -after never holding down a job for more than 2 years in his life, he has found a home at walmart. every waking moment of every day if he is not at work, all he does is talk about work. He has been brainwashed. he talks about the place as if it is a religion. It is the focal point of his very existence . He has worked in all departments. He has worked overnight in the grocery dept. He has been the manager of the photo kiosk, then decided he wanted to get out of "management" - it was too much pressure. He has certiifcates that he passed Walmart safe food handling classes pasted on his refrigerator like my 5 y/o has his fingerpaintings. He is the authority on everything. When I bought a new TV, he came over and grilled me for hours on what I paid, that I over paid, why didn't I use his employee discount. How they had a model on sale that blows mine away. I asked why - he had bullshit answers that were brainwashed into his practically empty head. I asked if it had certain features, - he just looked me as if i had 2 heads, - finally he got mad at me and walked away. Thank God.

I was actually shopping with him once there - the first and only time I ever will - it was after my wifes grandmother passeed and we were expecting a lot of company and he needed things for the house. On of the things that we bought was a large plastic trash can. after waiting on line for about 20 minutes at the cashier - we were rung up and headed for the door - or so I thought. he pulls the cashier aside and asks for the cashier manager. he makes a point of showing hiw "wal-mart id" - sort of like it was an FBI badge, and he points out that he is a department manager . Points out, taking his time - the line behind us growing and growing. That the cashier made the mistake of not opening the trash can to see if anything was inside of it. I am saying - lets go and I almost left him there. I don't think I was ever so embarrassed, and annoyed at one time in my life.

OK - he was right about looking inside the trash can. But he could have politely pulled the 17 y/o girl aside and explained it . He did not have to turn it into a 20 minute ordeal involving the girl's boss - reducing her to tears and involving her manager. But he is just a cruel bastard that enjoys excercising power in those few instances in his pathetic life. it is the same typeof father he was (and is) and wonders why his daughters can't stand him

HE IS MR. WALMART! coming to a comic book stand near you soon.

Oh - how I hat that place.

I also have some brazilian friends, not to "generalize". they are not all like that,

they love walmart, is the only place you can pass a 18 beer case under the cart and the cashiers are not train to catch it, they still pay for the other merchandise.

I can't do that, is not right.

Walmart used to have great prices, not anymore.

gallon of milk is cheaper at a cvs, toiletteries etc.

I started to shop at walmart cause I used to save money, however I stop since their prices have been going up alot, even on fishing equipment.
