Default Pirates 3

I could have sworn I saw a thread about the second sequal but can't seem to find it. Sorry if this is a double dip, but I never did read the thread.

The wife and I saw this one, or most of it, last night and I was wondering if anybody besides me thought it sucked really bad.

I loved the original and actually got the second on DVD as a gift and haven't watched it yet. Maybe you had to see the second in order to appreciate the third, but we finally said "enough already" and left right after Elizabeth decided to stay with "her" crew.

The third one is the second half of the second one. They were filmed at the same time 3 won't make any sense without seeing 2.

I thought the third one sucked, the second one was just OK, the first one was great. Take my advice and save your money, see something else if you must go to the movies, I heard Shrek was pretty good.

No doubt whatsoever that I would advise anyone to pass on 3, period.

If 2 is anything like 3, I may just give that unwatched DVD as a gift to somebody else!

Wait, let me see if I understand... You didn't watch the second movie, even though you own it, and you walked out of the third even though you paid for and sat through most of it??

It's a giant hollywood movie franchise based on a ride at a theme park. What were you expecting? And even at its worst, the movie is still better than most of the other crap out there.

Your understanding is right on the money.

I loved the first one, and the wife bought the second one on DVD a couple of months ago, but we haven't watched it yet. We went to the third expecting it would be as entertaining as the first based on how well it did in the box office when it opened.

Had I known my wife was as bored as I was with the movie, we wouldn't have waited so long to leave. She made the same statement after I asked her, "have you seen enough of this crap?" to which she answered, "I'm ready if you are". I was looking at my watch during the first 30 minutes!

It's a good thing we caught the last showing for the evening or I would have warned anyone waiting in line to buy tickets for that one.

BTW I hate theme parks but will endure them for my young son.

you have to go to 3 and expect a pirate movie and not a Capt. Jack Sparrow movie. If you enjoyed Capt. Jack then only watch Pirates 1. Iwas expecting more of jack in the movie and saw more on the other characters

I was just expecting a plot I could follow.

Maybe if I had seen the very first scene, things would have made more sense. We were a tad late coming in and the movie had started about the time the kid started singing the pirate song before being hanged.

Good new is, my head hasn't itched since last Saturday night.

I'd bet there won't be a Pirates 4.

I'd bet there won't be a sequel to this story, but I'd be my left nut there will be more movies staring Captain Jack. This franchise is only in its infancy. It's already made a billion plus.

drew, this thread is a symptom of the "i-need-to-post-every-random-thought-that-occurs-in-my-head-because-it-is-certain-that-others-will-find-my-opinions-fascinating" disease that has infected the bilge, and is now spreading here like an STD at an SEC school dorm

Did you see Pirates 3?

The movie title aired AFTER the scene I talked about.

I'd be willing to bet Pirates 4 will do about as well as Speed 3 would have after suffering through Speed 2: Stupidity at Sea.

I thought it was better than staring out the window watching the rain. Actually, if you forget the story lines and just watch he action and effects it's not a bad show.

I'm wonderring how PC IV will do?

How's that GED course coming along cgrand?

Maybe you can be accepted at Last Shot University and be drafted by the Ain'ts so you can wear that shirt with pride.

Pony up the bucks and go see Pirates 3 and give us a new perspective on the movie.

I really liked the PC 2. PC 3 was a bit long, but the effects were outstanding. You can't go into those movies thinking you're going to get Godfather-like acting and Dr. Strangelove writing. It's a fantasy with great special effects and good characters. Therefore, I think they are all good.

I waited for the scene after the credit, and it was a waste of my time. It was about 20 seconds long, and showed nothing important.
