Default best news I've heard today:Paris back in jail...

Paris Hilton was taken from a courtroom screaming and crying Friday seconds after a judge ordered her returned to jail to serve out her entire 45-day sentence for a parole violation in a reckless driving case.

"It's not right!" shouted the weeping Hilton. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience.

Hilton, who was brought to court in handcuffs in a sheriff's car, came into the courtroom disheveled and weeping. Her hair was askew and she wore a gray fuzzy sweatshirt over slacks. She wore no makeup and she cried throughout the hearing.

Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was calm but apparently irked by the morning's developments. He said he had left the courthouse Thursday night having signed an order for Hilton to appear for the hearing.

When he got in his car early Friday, he said, he heard a radio report that he had approved Hilton's participation in the hearing by telephone, but he had not.

"I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions," he said of the decision to release Hilton from jail after three days.

"At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home on Kings Road," Sauer said.

Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer for President, IMO.....

What I just posted on the bilge thread on this. I couldn't care less about PH and what she does but....

Quite frankly I think this is all down to a judge making law from the bench - again! Probably in this case to git himself a bit of the limelight.

I was reading about how the normal sentence for driving while on probation and with a suspended license is about 5 days, and you get out after a couple.

Looks like she got special treatment for being a celebrity all right - but got 8 times the sentence. I'm betting the sheriff, who has to deal with real life not pontificate from the bench, thought it was BS and let her out after the normal 3 days.

The judge was going for his 15 minutes of fame, the sheriff threw it back in his face, the judge get pi$$ed, Hilton get's whcked for it. Now they will file an appeal and the judge will look like an idiot - and deserves it!

Wow!

Menzies, you're the first person I've seen feel sorry for Paris. Let me get this straight... you think she's being mistreated because of some big plot by an activist judge? And since when do sherriffs make law? They only enforce it.

That's one bizarre take on all of this.

As I said "I couldn't care less about PH". How you translated that to "feel sorry for PH" I don't know.

And the judge has no more right to make law than the sheriff. That's why my vote goes to fresh blood after they have been there 5 years.

Plenty more to come on this.

Then why did the sheriff not say that? Why not come out and say that in accordance with historical sentences for similar offenses Ms. Hilton has been released to home confinement after serving ~1/10 of her sentence, which is in accordance with crimes of this type?

No, the sheriff comes up with some phantom "medical" reason - and you claim the judge is at fault here?

Is that an admission by you that you believe the sheriff's "medical" claim is bogus?

Who cares who screwed up first, judge issued an order, order is to be followed out unless over turned on appeal.

Sheriff's do not have a carte blanche power to selectively enforce judges' orders - even in California.

she got 45 days...reduced to 23....sheriff let her out after 3. She could have done the whole 45 as far as i am concerned....my problem is with the sheriff and judge. Once released to her home I feel unless she violated the restrictions of house arrest she should not have been put back in jail. Personally I think she will be out in a week. Contrast that with the news that that Bi tch in Tennessee who gunned down her preacher husband will probably serve less than 7 months for MURDER,,,, somethings wrong with that !!!!

Judge screwed up well before the sheriff.

I see that as a tough call. It’s one of those “which came first; the chicken or the egg” things. Yeah, the judge f**ked up (don’t they all?), but the sheriff also f**ked up on this one, tho it appears the sheriff was trying for the best interest of serving ‘justice’. That said, the courts in these United States are corrupt beyond belief. If you want ‘justice’ you need to go outside of the United States’s judicial system.

I’m with you, bro. I vote the D.R.I.P. … Don’t Return Incumbent Politicians. And as a reminder, judges are politicians!

It is not ‘murder’. In Tenn, when a woman shoots her husband in the back with a shotgun it is only ‘manslaughter’.

Now I haven't been fallowing this by any means, but if the judge handed down 45 days in the first place I would have to think that was well with in his range to do so!

Paris balling her eyes out and get released early because of her mental state is a TOTAL CROCK! I'd wager to say at least 10% of ALL convicted ball their eyes out at first.....what makes her so special????

Getting thrown back into the slammer, if in fact she has, I have no knowledge of....as I said I haven't been following it. But if she has been.....good! She deserves to be there based off of the judge's original ruling! All I know is if any of us were to be thrown in the clink for the same reasons I highly doubt we'd get let out for balling our eyes out!

my point was that its almost a form of double jeopardy,,,,, the sheriff released her to her home to serve out her sentence and she at least as far as we know had NOT violated that order, and was summarily returned to jail with if the news accounts are to even be half believed a shame of a HEARING. HEAR this... she is guilty and was sentenced, i just have a problem with the returning to jail with out cause on her side, they screwed up... NOT HER at that point. IF she had served the whole 45 days that would be fine with me. Like I said my beef comes from what basically has become a pissing contest between the sheriff and judge and the convict is now the tennis ball.
