Default Who here?

Misses the "old school" NBA? I know I'm a young buck. I grew up idolizing Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Michael Jordan. Back when $$$ wasn't a deciding factor in performance. These guys brought it every night.

With the upcoming finals, how many of you will watch the "next" MJ (LeBron James) go after his first title?

I honestly think I'll watch a couple of games

I stopped after that also. I reckon I'm looking for a glimmer of hope. Looking for the next great "champion" Doubt we'll ever see it

I don't think it's going to be anytime soon. I think they are looking for someone that is merketable rather than someone that has true tallent.

I stopped watching "bassetball" when the players stopped being able to read, write, or speak the English language!

I'm now into WCW, ECW, and the "re-growing" of Vince McMahon's HAIR!

Regards,

At first I was bent out of shape trying to jump high enough to touch the netting, then I set out to touch the hoop (I did).....that was about the same time I lost interest in the sport....I've never followed it since. I don't think I've ever watched even a period of the game.

I love my sports, just that isn't one of them, but man they make a lot of money!

Same here guys...haven't watched since MJ. Lebron is a heck of a talent, but the atmosphere has changed.

The game of basketball makes absolutely no sense to me, and can honestly say I never watched more than 10 minutes of any game.

Anyone that watched Karem Abdul Jabbar shout a sky-hook over an opponent and did'nt scream about it has ice water in their veins.

This is probably the 6th or 7th Finals in a row that I've not watched. I started watching in the late 70s with the Sonics and Bullets. Worshipped Magic as a kid after watching MSU win in 79. Followed the Knicks through the 90s, but have lost interest lately.

I guess I miss seeing a kid in college. Watching him grow and build a game thru 3-4 years and then go to the NBA.

I have no affinity for the OJ Mayos when they get to the NBA, so I'm not interested seeing them learn on-the-job for millions of $. I saw Lebron in HS here in NJ at a tourney, and I thought he had a lot to learn as any 18 year old would, but was a man among boys and a great talent. Now 4 years later, he's into his own stratosphere. Funny how that 4 year mark seems to hit for him. Kobe was the same way.

So, Ralph, I'm out. I'll stick with March Madness. NBA has a lot of great talent, but they're not inspiring.

I grew up with the Knicks in the Willis Reed, "Clyde" Frazier,
Earl the Pearl Monroe, Dave DeBuscher, Dollar Bill Bradley
(who by the way would be the NBA's All Time Leading Scorer
if he played in the 3 point era) days. That was a team with a heart.

These days, you couldn't pay me to go to a game. And not just
because the Celtics SUCK!!! (Which they really, really do)
