Default Vandales and Fire

Read here.......>
http://www.thestar.com/News/article/212015
The Burlington Post has much better pictures in their May 13th paper, but it wasn't glaringly obvious to me on how I go back into their archives to find them.

The follow up story goes as such:

Two Hamilton (Ontario, Canada) teenagers face dozens of chages --- including arson --- related to May 9th LaSalle Park Marina (Burlington, Ontairo) fire that destroyed three large boats and caused at least $750,000 damage.

A 13 year old and 15 year old, both male, were areasted by Police on Friday . Each is charged with 40 counts of break and enter into vessels, five counts of arson and five counts of mischief over $5,000.

The 13 year old has also been charged with two counts of breach of probation.

Police say damage from the blaze and multiple break-ins could easily surpass the $1,000,000 mark, all values are not as of yet.

I grew up in Burlington and currently live just 30 miles away and have use LaSalle Park’s boat ramps many times.....trust me, this place in not as secure as the Star makes it out to be. What the reporter has done is describe two different business on the grounds as one.....one business is the water/ marina and the other is nothing but a secure boat storage compound. The compound has the good quality high fences, but the locked gate to the docks is nothing more then regular chain link fencing.....the kids could have easily scaled around it.

How would you guys like to see the two kids punished? Do you think their parents should in some way be held accountable for some of the damage losses many of these boaters will sure be encountering? Oh, the guy with the new boat the article spoke of, well so I’ve heard through the grape vine, he was days away from putting insurance on his boat.....it was launch and sitting the slip but he had not used it yet.

I'd say the parents should be responsible for the costs their kids caused. As far as the kids go since it is not pc to beat the living $hit out of them, a good long jail sentence followed by a couple thousand hours doing all the grunt work at the marina

No, No, No.

Put the little Basta_ds in a prison cell (together) until the age of 30. That should change their outlook on life.

In Texas the parents WOULD be held responsible for the children's actions, along with the kids (depending on past offenses) being put on probation, along with paying out restitution and any other punishment set by the court OR sent to TYC (Texas Youth Commission - juvenile prison).

Personally.....my own kids would WISH to be sent to prison rather than have to deal with ME.

Farmer Jane. No doubt your kids have more sense than to do something like that in the first place.

More than likely these kids will never get the full punishment for what they did. $1,000,000 damage that's the big time.
