How much money did you not make by not buying Apple stock?

Tomorrow when Apple hits $120.00 a share Iím selling enough of my holdings/profits to pay cash for a new 2007 Toyota LandCruiser (see photo).

Hey Ray. I wish I listened to you (well actually I am ok that I didn't...my loss though), but as a friend, a fellow boater, a fellow THT'er, couldn't you buy a Ford Expedition instead and get my Ford stock up?

Not a big deal, but the Toyota LC is due to be replaced this year. It is a dinosaur, but a caveman never drove one.

Can't help but to think about these Apple threads when I heard the afternoon Bloomberg report today. Congrats on the buy, and wait a few weeks. You may want to hold out for the new Lexus LX570

Based on what I read about the new Windows Vista OS, I think Apple has more room to grow.

I now have a 1995 Toyota Landcruiser with 134,000 miles, absolutely the very best vehicle I have ever owned. In all these years just gas, oil, brakes (thing weighs 5,000 plus lbs.) 1 set of plugs, two sets of tires, etc. Tows the boat just fine. Hauls arse up the steepest boat launch ramps. I found a winner so Iím sticking with it.

As to the Lexus, itís the same vehicle only with some extra plush and fancy, also only a few bucks more.

My only trepidation on selling $70,000.00 worth of Apple stock is that leaving it there would make me much more money. However, and itís a huge ďhoweverĒ, is that Iím 74 years old and waiting just might get me closer to my death bed. So what the heII! Might as well get the LandCruiser now and enjoy it now. Ah that new car smell.

Listen carefully fellas/gals. It is not too late to reap the benefits of buying Apple stock. I predict it will double in 2008 and double again in 2009 or 2010 at the latest. Phone your local Scottrade brokers office, open an internet account; then buy all the Apple stock you can with all the money you can beg, borrow or steal.

Just to whet your appetite. I made a truckload of money today on Apple stock without lifting a finger, and tomorrow I just might make that much or more again. Not bragging, just want to share the wealth with a great bunch of folks here on THT. No skin off my arse if you stay poor or get rich. Or are rich and get richer.

I will guarantee you the stock market is more fun than_ _ _ _ _ _ _ (You fill in the blanks).

Caviat; Do not take investment advice from anyone............. Anyone....... Yes, including me.

I'd like to get rich but have no sizeable amount of cash to put on AAPL. Not into taking chances, mortages, lines or credit or buying on margin.

Guess this could be a classic example of the rich get richer! Actually, this is a great example of the cash flow quadrant....this being the highly desireable 4th piece of the puzzle.

Joe, Not only will Apple stock buy the LandCruiser it will also pay for the gas. So who cares.

Sea Nile, Sell your body or whatever else ya might have to do to hustle up $500.00 to open an internet account then stuff every extra buck ya stumble onto into the account and buy more shares with it. Believe me you are missing the sheer joy of looking at the scottrade site each morning to see how much money you might make that day.

You guys are prolly gonna be mad, but I have have used apples since 1985, I bought most of my stock PRE-split at $14 to $35 a share I just didn't buy as much as Ray or Glen, but I retire in 2 years and have stopped looking at 31 footers and started looking at 42 foot Sporties in 2 years I might be able to keep it at my waterfront home

Sweet deal Ray, You almost have as much stock in Apple as I do. Much of my stock was bought in 96 and 97 for $9-$12 per share. My prediction is about the same as yours. Apple will skyrocket in the later parts of 07 and 08. Their is NOTHING on the market or coming down the pipe line that is close to the iphone. I spent 2 hours with one last week. The sales of the phone are going to be staggering
You did not here that from me though.

Thanks, fellas. Also big thanks goes to Steve Jobs for being so darned innovative.

Big Mojo, OK .......using the old stock market axiom that one should have a diversified portfolio, I guess I am not a savvy/disciplined investor. I guess good investing practice would be, as you suggest, to invest in those companies that work alongside Apple. Fact is no one (not even ATT) will ever have the stock price appreciation Apple has and will have in the future, so I have all my bucks in Apple and will reap the rewards of super high stock prices as well as absorb the punishment if a tragedy comes along.

Look, fellas, I bought Apple at $8.00 so Iím working off their money, so what ever happens, happens.

I donít know how to explain that as Apple stock prices rise the price today will seem like a very low price for the stock on down the road.

LetĎs say you invested $100,000.00 in Apple stock tomorrow morning. Iím willing to bet you would make over $1,000.00 profit by the market closing bell at the end of tomorrowĎs session. Sure it has itís lumpy days. No big deal because a day or so later it goes up a bunch.

Iím convinced that $100,000.00 investment now would turn into $400,000.00 in just a few years. Thatís my prediction and the basis for my own style of investing. So where does one get $100,000.00? Heii, I donít know.

Canít get $100,000.00 to invest. No big deal, start out small with whatever ya can muster up. Apple stock is going to be rising for many, many years to come.

I started out when Apple was at $8.00 a share and took a small amount of the profit from the sale of a house to invest in Apple stock (I wonít say how much) but about the price of a cheap new car then.

Caviat #1: Buying stocks is risky, so unless you believe strongly in the premise that ďNO RISK, NO REWARDď or ďTHE REWARD IS IN DIRECT PROPORTION TO THE RISKď, donít do it. Just keep plugging away at that job you probably hate with a passion and remain safe and secure (and broke).

Jeffro22, You will hear folks (Cramer) say take profits just before the Iphone comes out because the stock will inevitably drop like a rock before it starts on itís way back up to historic heights. Not a chance in HeII of that happening, but if it does, itís just an opportunity to buy some more at a lower price.

Caviat #2: Never take stock market advice from ANYONE.

Everytime you buy an ipod they used to give you two white apple logo stickers - one is stuck on my upper electronics box lid of the boat cause that's who bought it.....
