Default I need some entomology help.

I have these small wasp like looking insects all over my loblolly pine seedlings. Are they beneficial or harmful? Any help would be appreciated.

Can you take a picture of one of the critters and post it? That would help to identify them.

Looks like good bait. Try putting one on a hook.

I called up my ag extension agent and got the low down. Number one. The wasp above is a thread- waisted wasp. They are beneficial because they feed on the larva of the nantucket pine tip moth. The pine tip moth is laying eggs on the newly formed shoots of my seedlings. The freshly hatched larva are feeding on the shoots. The thread-waisted wasp are feeding on the pine tip larva.

Good to hear it wasn't anything harmful. Those extension guys are good with stuff like that.
