Default Mega Movers

If anyone watches the History Channel, tonight's episode of Mega Movers will feature how they floated two bridge sections down Narragansett Bay to install them in Providence.

--------------------------------------

R.I. bridge move to be featured on History Channel

Moving the new Route 195 bridge some 12 miles up Narragansett Bay to Providence last summer made history for the state Department of Transportation.

Now it's made the History Channel.

The bridge will be featured tonight at 9 on "Mega Movers," the show about big things being moved in a big way, sometimes by other big things.

Here's the preview of tonight's hour-long show from the History Channel's Web site:

"Bridges have been pushed, airlifted and taken apart, but if needed, can one of the world's longest and most famous suspension bridges be moved? Experts say San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge can be relocated and they'll show how. In Rhode Island, the team is challenged when they take on the job to haul the world's widest network-arched bridge 15 miles up river and set it in place."
