I tell you this. Opened a Roth IRA about 6 yrs ago. Finally got around to switching it to etrade in Dec '06. Over those 5 1/2 yrs, I was up about 30%. Pretty measly, if you ask me. So far, since middle of Jan when I bought a few Apple shares after reading these threads (and of course my own research), then also bought some FRPT which I also saw in these threads, I'm up 30% in 4 months.

Have to say, I'm pretty happy, but of course, I wish I had been running my own Roth all this time. I'd have alot more in that account to buy more Apple with.

Apples commercials are doing a great job at educating the general public on the short comings of PC's. People are tired of the Microsoft manufactured computer problems - virus, spyware, etc.
What an incredibly stupid thing to say…and so sez Steve Jobs. He is concerned that iApple may be making a fool of itself, compromising its own image by insulting 90% of the computer users with those commercials. As Jobs put it, 90% of the people can’t be wrong about their choice of computers. He thinks those iApple commercials should be stop, but it is not his decision.

Per Jobs, iApple’s computers have become the flavor of the day for computer viruses. Since iApple has, actually had a rep of being virtually virus free, it has become the number one target by those that craft hardcore virus script. I forget the actual numbers but Jobs told how many new viruses a week are now popping up that are written specifically for iApple computers.

From apple.com : "Apple encourages the widespread use of multiple antivirus utilities so that virus programmers have more than one program to circumvent, thus making the whole virus writing process more difficult."

iApple makes a great computer product that fits extremely well in a niche market. To think it is bigger than its niche is to prove one’s self ignorant beyond compare. If you think different take it up with iApple’s Steve Jobs. More of iApple's money is coming from its multi-media ventures than its computer products. In fact, I would not be surprised to see at some point that iApple computers spins off into its own company or is sold off into a merger separate from iApple's multi-media earning.

I hear you eyeball . . . but those ads are working at least here on campus . . . and others. University of ohio just released stats of their "go mobile" program.

"Statistics from the university’s Go Mobile program show half of the students purchasing laptops chose Apple computers, Sams said, adding that use of the program may be re-evaluated in light of this trend."

The article also gives you an idea of how many students (in campus housing) are getting nailed with DMCA violations . . . which will only increase demand for services like itunes.
