Default Ft. Pierce Beach Restoration - What a Crock

As fast as the dredge Bayport can pump the sand on the beach, Mother Nature takes it back and I'm sure deposits much of it on the fragile reefs that lie just off the beach. What's wrong with this picture??

I'm certain that, within weeks of the completion of the "restoration", the beach will recede right back to where it was before. If anyone witnessed the latest "restoration" at Jupiter inlet, they would have noted that it didn't take 30 days to UNrestore itself.

What awaste of time and $$$. What kind of irreversible damage are we doing to our inshore reefs?

There's lotsa reasons for this erosion..first and foremost, they aren't using true beach sand, which has different physical characteristics than the crap they pump on the beach. Second, ALL beaches on the East Coast south of a stabilized inlet erode.

Those gazillionaires on Jupiter Island are probably demanding it.

Be thankful the Army Corps of Engineers havent pumped WWII land mines on your beaches like they have on ours in New Jersey. I am not kidding. Some beaches on LBI are closed.
