Default Shipping 14 50# boxes

I want to buy 14 boxes of tiles from a guy out of state. The boxes will weigh about 50# each. I got a price from FEDEX ground for about $380 for all. Is this the best way to go or is there a freight company that will be less. This would fit on 1 pallet.

Grey,

UPS Freight may be able to move them. www.upsfreight.com

You can ship them through the small package (traditional) network, but its going to cost more.

Any LTL Carrier will ship them, but Im not sure if it will be less than $380 though.

Call Central Transport @ 800-423-6872, tell them you want a "pallet program" rate.

Not to bad mouth anyone but having worked for Central Transport in the past, I wouldn't ship anything with them, especially tile.
I'm a sales rep for a national LTL carrier. Just about any LTL carrier will offer a "courtesy" discount from 20-40% off standard rates. Plus, it will be cheaper if the shipper drops it off at the carrier's dock and you pick it up at the destination dock. Do you know anyone at a business that ships/receives regularly? If so, you could possibly use their discount.
PM me the info and I'll see what I can do for you on Monday.

Keep in mind, if you have it on a pallet, you may need to be able unload it with a forktruck unless you can get them to wait while you unload it. LTLwill definitely becheaper thanregular ground. I have UPS Freight andFed Ex Frt in everyday in Odessa with areal gooddiscount if that helps. Give me the zipcodes and I'll give you a number. Let me know.

Update: UPS Freight was not able to assist as the pickup was at a residence. Fedex Freight could do it, but not ground for the same reasons. They were willing to do it by air, but that would have been $1500! I ended up using uship.com and posted my shipping needs and a guy who lives near me was delivering something in a 1-ton truck to NY and was looking for a cargo to return to Florida bid on it for $300, picked up the tiles and dropped them off in my driveway today.

Props to Marlin009 for offering his services! He went above the call of duty and truly represents the brotherhood of THT. Oh, and props to Hammer for suggesting uship.com.

Thanks for the kind words Richard. Sorry it didn't go as smoothly as I thought it would but I'm just glad you were able to get it taken care of at a reasonable price. Gravel driveway.....who'd a thought!

Love the cat boat pic Bill. I used to race IMPBA District 3 and a West Coast series, what a blast. Still have the boats. Took my big mono (Apache w/twin OPS 80's) out in the gulf last year. She loves little chop.
