I am confused. Earlier in the thread you wrote that the sod is only a month old, and later you wrote that the same thing happened last summer?
When we moved in last year I layed the sod down. The Admiral wanted to redo the lawn and that part of the grass was dead anyway so we tore it all out and started over.

Now with topsoil and new sod it is dying again. I am leaving for deployment saturday and do not have time. I supect she will call in a lawn service to fix the issue.

Are you pissing off of your deck above???

There may be concrete under those spots...

The concrete guys wash off their tools and equipment and it leaves a thin layer of concrete. A little soil is added over the top of the area to fill in...... I had two spots where my sod died next to my driveway. I was digging up the area to replace the sod and I found a nice 2'x3' slab of one inch concrete.

I will check out the concrete possibility monday, thanks. It would be bad to hear about brown spots while I am in Iraq. One of you all would have to come and fix that for her
