Default Stolen items

My car was ransacked in Hammer Point, Tavernier, Fl. I always thought Miami was tuff and the keys were safe but I guess there are scum bags (kids) everywhere. I lost a big screen TV which has been recovered and kept for evidence. I don't know when I will get it back. I miss most my Costa del Mar precription sunglasses that they took off of my rear view mirror.

If you want the TV back now just go to the Police and advise them. They can't keep it against your wishes. There is a Florida State Statute which allows for the introduction into evidence a photograph of the evidence in liew of the actual evidence. There are just a few things that must be listed along with the photograph, such as Date, time, description, person's name who took the photo, and a few others. Police just like to keep the actual items because it makes a better impact on the jury. If you can do without the TV, then let them keep it until the trial. If not, then you know how to retrieve it. good luck.

There are only two kind of people that live in the Keys:

The Wanted and The Unwanted!

(P.S. I wish I lived in the Keys)

My house is a weekend get-a-way although it was home for a year and a half after Hurricane Andrew destroyed my house in Miami. I bought the TV at Circuit City on Thursday and had it in my car to install it on Saturday. When I went to get it Saturday morning the side door was open and the TV was gone. The Police know who took it after some amature police work by my son. Two of my sons were police officers and they told what to do. Thanks for the responce. Im sure glad they left the hot tub (joke)

I used to live in the Keys...on the Bay MM 96 for several years, Pirates Cove for several years, and then up in Key Largo. I stayed at MM 96 thru Hurricane Andrew. It was really a nice little fishing/diving village until then. After Andrew everybody and his cousin moved down to the Keys and crime went thru the roof. It wouldnt have mattered if the car was locked or not -- for a big screen TV they'd have broken into it. But dammit man! what do you drive??

I drive a Lexus RX 300. Best car Ive ever owned. 158,000 miles. Still rides great. The good news is the detective just called. They got my TV and my Costas. The Monroe county sheriffs dept. are top notch in myu book.
