Default My new windy day past time...

Took the MTII course here over theweekend. Just what Florida needs, another blue hair on a Harley... Definately one of the more fun things I've done...

Looks good. Now get those Harley mufflers off there and get some aftermarket pipes. I'm partial to Vance and Hines.

Yep, a Wide Glide. It is mine until Friday at 5pm, then it goes back to Treasure Coast H-D rental dept. At $300 for Tues-Fri. + $60 ins, I plan on taking all of them for extended rides. Next the V-Rod, then the Softail Heritage and Fat boy. I'm going by what I felt the most comfortable on.

Gotta tell you, this thing is something else.. It has it all going on, the vibrating, the noise, the heft of it and big brass balls. With all that it is balanced. Having come from 2 days on a 250 Suzuki (school) and no other riding experience, the HD was intimidating to sit on. It is so well balanced that I was comfortable on it within about an hour. Nice machine, the V-Rod will be interesting.

Yeah, get some real loud pipes on there and piss off your neighbors. Why can't a Harley look good AND be relatively quiet? Loud pipes lose rights. Just ask the owners of townhouses and condos, like me.

I have ridden that bike many a time, great bike. The bike I really did not like at first is the V-rod,but that thing has got a very comfortable rider position. Just be careful,I have had many friends die in the last few years on bikes.None of them wore helmets ,please wear one.

Wait a minute. You say "all" and then leave out the baggers? Gray hair deserves a bagger. You earned it. BTW, you can even make a bagger to where it will pizz off the neighbors AND set off car alarms.

Any of the touring "family". Road King, Street Glide, Electra Glide, etc. I had a Heritage and loved it but when I switched to a Road King I couldn't believe the difference in the ride. It has the police air seat which helps too but the air suspension on the baggers is wonderful. However, what you get depends a lot on the distances you will be riding and how much two-up riding you will be doing. I ain't ragging any of the other HD's as I would like to have one of each but you ought to at least give a Road King or EG a spin while you're at it. Just my lil' ol' .02.

I will try the touring, but the shifter/brake placement doesnt feel as comfortable as the others. Tomorrow afternoon it goes back and my next rental will be the 8th thru 11th... Thinking I'm going to reserve a V-Rod next...

Tyee 2 Congrats Do post up the picts of the WG... I am following a couple used ones on ebay right now, and I got pretty comfortable on this one. The V-Rod should be interesting.

Afish... I just brought my new ride home tonight and OMG, I don't think Harley Davidson ever made a sweeter bike than this one

Screw freebird's V' RODS.... Get yourself a nice two tone Dyna
I don't know how to post pics, so send me your email and I'll send you pics of the most gorgeous(sp) bike that HD ever built, and you can post for everyone to drool over
I don't know for sure if pictures will do this hog justice, but... I'll try!

Cheers... Tyee.

Tyee, sent ya a PM, I'll post'em for ya...
Me tryin V-Rods has nothin to do with Freebirds post.... I think they are cool, and I do have a Porsche to go with it (doesn't mean much anything to me), the salesman was demoing how smooth etc.... That said; It will have to really do something for me as I like the Heritage Classic for looks the best (which I haven't tried), and my first experience was with this WG, and I can't find fault one. We'll see where it goes... BTW Some of the talk over on V-twin is the WG is in it's last year, no '08...

Tyee 2's new ride.... NICE.....
Sorry it took so long to post tyee, ended up moving back north last week and wasn't on-line much. I also didn't get a chance to ride any other bikes yet, but I will. Almost bought a new leftover '06 Softail standard, they had 3 of them at the H-D store in Daytona for $12k...
