Default National VA Tech day

Alright, I simply wanted to let everyone know that this Friday is Virginia Tech Hope Day. Please try and wear maroon or orange to show your support for this national tragedy as many across our nation will be particpating.

Thanks for spreading the word. The support we've recieved from other universities, particularly our ACC rivals, has been overwhelming. A good friend of mine who is a die hard NCSU fan, asked to borrow a VT shirt on Friday. It means so much to me - and reminds me what's important in life.

Here in Richmond, the Tech T-shirts, hats, sweat shirts, etc. have been flying off the shelves. They interviewed a shop owner on TV yesterday where she said she called her supplier to order an extra 2 dozen shirts, called an hour later to double the order, called an hour later and said, just make it 400.

I saw where one of the national baseball teams all were wearing VT caps at their game last night. I think either Baltimore or Washington. The Richmond Braves will be wearing VT caps tonight.

I can certainly come up with some Orange!

I just hope this memorial day for VT is not a one and done deal. If the media want to give it the fame of the worst mass murder in history, perhaps this tragedy can be remembered on the same day of each year.

Here's to all Hokies, past, present and future! I just wish this were recognition of a happy occasion as opposed to a tragedy.
