No? Me neither, and you probably won't. Heard on the radio yesterday that the University of Utah allows anyone with a concealed carry permit to carry on campus (students included). All of these mass shooters are cowards, they wouldn't dare start anything where they are likely to get shot back at. My position is we need to arm a certain portion of the general public, kinda like sky marshalls on planes. The new people that are issued conceal carry permits must pass tougher scrutiny.

i have no problem with with folks arming themselves and am a staunch defender of the second anendment....however...i lived in utah for six years (nice to shoot in the driveway) and it is far from imune to gun violence...recent trolley square incident an example...........also since these whack jobs seem to wind up killin themselves (probably the whole point) why would they fear someone else doing it?

You have to rememer though that in Utah, some folks have more wives than guns. Bad combination depending on how you look at it.

Come to think of it, maybe that's why there are so many gun safe manufacturers located in Utah.

I wonder if I could carry a grenade launcher to my Calculus class?

Never know what might happen in line at the water fountain.

If I had a carry permit I would be carrying a gun with me. If only one person at VTech had a gun, dozens of people would have lived.

Tougher gun laws wont prevent these incidents from happening. Guns dont kill people, psyco's do

Yep, that's certainly one way to look at it, but I was thinkin' more the other way around myself. Guns don't always shoot right you know, many times they shoot left?

Tell me that wife #11 wasn't a liberal anti-gun nut who supported the Brady Bunch when they made gun manufacturers limit their clip capacities to 10 rounds.

Hey, now that just gave me an idea for a new political bumper sticker.

"The right wing is never wrong."

Then or course there's always this one.

"Left is right, and right is wrong." But that would be profiling to guys who live in Kalifornya around Hollywierd. If ya'll can't figure that one out, I'm proud of you.

I never will forget the multiple Purple Heart recipient who spoke at a church I used to belong to many years ago in Knoxville, TN. He was a great speaker and had been severely wounded in Viet Nam and was disabled. He joked about people asking him, "Hey Marine, you got any medals?" To which he would reply, "Yeah, I've got a metal plate in my ankle, one in my leg, and another in my head!"

He then made a statement which cracked me up regarding males and ear rings. He said, "There's two kinds of men who were ear rings, queers and those who want to be." Needless to say, he was in friendly territory to make that kind of statement, but it really did catch me off guard!

Problem with unprepared folks carrying guns is, they usually get their ass shot off! Happened her in Wa. a year or two ago. Nut job goes into a mall and starts shooting people. Hero with concealed carry permit goes out and points his gun and says "stop or I'll shoot" Nut job shoots him and he's crippled for life. Didn't know enough or have the balls to just take the nut job out.

Pulling a gun and pulling the trigger are two different things entirely, and you are absolutely correct about training.

I don't think I'd have a problem pulling the trigger on a threat to myself or my family, but I hope I never have to find out.

This is the first thing I thought about when I heard the news. I thought, "if just one student/instructor had been carrying, how many lives would have been saved?" I know that I would have not hesitated in that situation. I actually know a few people that do carry at Universities, albeit illegally. If I didn't firmly believe that the one I attend is so safe, I would be as well. I just hate the world is becoming such a place that people have to worry about things like this.
