Default PowerWinch causing electrical problem?

Has anyone ever had their powerwinch cable cause electrical problems in their truck? I have the cable running from the battery to the rear socket. The positive end is connected to the positive terminal on the battery and the negative end is grounded to the frame. I have been having problems with the Vehicle Dynamic Control and suspect the two are related. It's an '05 Pathfinder.

Any electrical gurus out there or someone with similar experience?

I would disconnect the PW positive from the battery and see if the problem goes away.

I posted this in the boating forum too (probably more relevant there) so I will follow it there. BTW, I did disconnect and am waiting to see if the problem goes away. Thanks.

Hey don't go knocking our little world we have over here, we've solved many of life's major hurtles!

The only way I could see the one effecting the other is if the winch has some sort of short to it, that or the power draw on it is just so great that it is sucking the juice right out of the entire system? What size battery are you running, are you sure it's big enough to supply the winch?

The positive wire should have a fuse or circuit breaker installed near the batt to protect the wire from over-current or short-circuit

IMO a negative wire run from the batt is a better choice for a conductor than the frame. The winch has a heavy current draw and the steel frame was not designed to be a current carrying conductor
