Default I Hate Shaving, recommendations....

I've been using a Gillette Sensor3 for the last few years now, it worked great.

Now, I can't find the refills locally for my razor.

Seems I'm forced into the Gillette Fusion 4 blade Razor, and it's worse than the 3 blade razor.

I typically let the beard grow for one or two days before shaving, and it didn't "pull" when I shaved with the 3 blade razor, now it's murder with the new four blade razor.

Anybody have any suggestions other than shaving everyday?

I don't have the problem of finding the blades.

I do however find that shaving in the shower takes away all the bad things. Shaving over the sink is for dogs.

I've had a mirror in the shower for a few years now. Stick on's work great if your not that comfortable. I could do it in my sleep if I had to.

No, but it feels like it when I shave with the new razor!

Then again, the significant other did buy it for me.

That razor is miserable!

You could try a bikini wax of the face.

Come on, I'm getting ready to finance out the laser hair removal, I'm down to my last blade.

I'm also looking around for straight razors, but I'm scared!

the 4-blade razors stink. I got one free from my supermarket and dumped it after the first couple of shaves. The 3 blade is good, but expensive. I like the 2 blade disposable with the lube strip. Even the supermarket generics work well.

I had to use the disposable single blades while in USAF boot camp, and they weren't as bad, I can buy a 20 pack of them for cheaper than a single refill for the new 4 blader. What's the best razor out there guys? Electric gizmos are out! I'm not opposed to the straight razor and a leather strop hanging in the bathroom.

I started that about 5-6 years ago - now I do it without looking and I have a small beard/moustache thing going on - if you are clean all over (on your face anyway! ), you should have no issues with this. It is the best and most cofortable shave you will ever have. I just use the shampoo - no shaving cream.

Invest in a fogless mirror ($40-50 for a really good one) if you are not 100% confident.

But just go with the shower shave no matter what!!

How about Nair, works great on my wife's legs, when I was in the army alot of guys used some kind of shaving powder, smelled pretty bad but it seemed to work.

Just use an electric beard trimmer. Not a close shave but close enough.

This is what I do most of the time. Use the first guard. My line of work allows me to have the perception of something less than starched white shirts with pinstriped suits.

Becareful with the Nair it will eat your face up!!!!!!
Had one of my working podnahs try it on his face, hair was gone but so was most of his skin. Kinda makes you wonder just how much abuse those bikini areas can take.

I use the double blade desposibles, either Gillette or Bic. Barbasol shaving cream, Edge works pretty good too.

Some other tips may help .
Shave in the shower after you have washed, gives your beard time to soften. Use good shaving cream when the can starts putting out cream that is kinda thin get a new can. If your job demands clean shave then shave every day, don't give them whiskers time to get thick. Use a new blade or a new razor everytime you shave.

I don't use the triple edge or the quad blade jobs, replacement blades are way to expensive. plus I find that they don't do that good of a job. My all time favorite is what is now "Old Fashioned" Trac II, can't find the blades no more, but they always did a good job. Real old fashion to me is what my father gave me 35 years ago, still have it, probably will always keep it, a plain old double edge "safety razor". You older guys remember them don't you?

I've been using the new Gillette with 5 blades. It works well. I also shave in the shower after I let me face soften up a lot. I have sensitive skin, but very coarse strong facial hair.

I didnt like the 4 and 5 bladers either, more pull than cut compared to the standard twin blade. As long as it pivots twin blade chepos are fine for me.

I heard cutting off your nuts will reduce the rate of hair growth on one's face.......my friend Pat, I mean Patricia told me that.

Seriously, I still use the Trac II razors and shave when in the shower.......it works like a charm.

I hope you are kidding about the straight razor. I have a couple of them and they have to be used with great care and respect. A "nick" with a straight razor can easily require stiches.
