Better switch to Jiff ~

Or if you're REALLY wantin' to "live on da edge" switch to all NATURAL peanut butter. MMMMmmmmm~ although it IS an "aquired" taste.

I've not heard any more about the peanut butter thing since the dog food thing happened. Maybe SOMEONE on here knows SOMETHING ~ ??

Deep six the Peter Pan and Jiff.

Go for Smart Balance Omega Natural peanut butter. 1600 omega-6 and 1000 omega- 3. No trans fat.

And, it tastes good!

That's not real PB, pure partially hydrogenated Veg Oil. Go to Trader Joes if they have one by you, and get the real stuff.

Gee, now that you mention it, I havent seen P/P since the salmonella recall. I thought it was just a few lots that were effected. Hopefully they didnt have to destroy their entire stock.

It's possible they're holding it from the market until nerves settle. Maybe you can check their web-site and special order some.

Good luck!

Bailey Boat, I just threw out an almost full jar a couple of weeks ago. I like Jiff.

My wife had bought some Peter Pan and I asked "where's the Jiff?" She's a sweet girl and normally takes these kind of hints.

A week goes by, "Honey there is only PP, where's the Jiff?" This time there is a little friendly dialogue with the gist being, in the last 9 years we only have creamy Jiff. I'm thinking I know she got it this time.

Another week goes by, Saturday afternoon I want a PBJ after edging the yard, mowing 2 acres of grass, cloroxing and pressure washing the house, patio, carport. In the pantry guess what...There is a jar of Peter Pan peanut butter....no Jiff. This time I get the PP and toss it in the kitchen trash can in front of her and say "Did you know that we have been out of Jiff peanut butter for a month?"

Sure wish I had known you liked it, I gots plenty of Jiff now

But dang it.... I'm out of Peter Pan.

Have ya'll tried the Reece's Peanut Butter like they use in "Reecy Cups"?

I love Reecy Cups, but I haven't tried that peanut butter yet. Maybe that will cure what ails ya'!

She got it at the Food Lion, I just checked for you and they do not have any. All empty shelf space with labels for it. I gues that "Salmon Eller" feller got all the Peter Pan. And you could have used a WIC card too.

I got a jar of the Smart Balance all natual omega 3 as suggested on this thread. Damn! That is some nasty stuff. All you have to pay is shipping I'll give that window caulking cardboard goop to anyone that needs to patch holes in their boat. Only one spoon dipped out and spit into the trash can.

There's hope ahead (Congra Foods press release):

ConAgra Foods will take a number of steps to ensure that its peanut butter product returns to store shelves as quickly as possible. The company plans to reopen its Sylvester, Ga., facility in August after it thoroughly addresses all possible causes of the Salmonella outbreak. The company will also take this time to implement significant changes in the plant, including installing new, state-of-the-art machinery, technology and designs throughout the plant. While these plantwide upgrades are being put in place, the company will partner with a third-party, co-manufacturing facility that meets all standards for producing safe and quality products. ConAgra Foods will begin shipping Peter Pan Peanut Butter to retailers this summer.
