Default Proud Dad

Just wanted to tell someone how proud I am of my little girl. She's a sophmore in highschool and runs track. Yesterday she ran the pre-lims for County's. She runs the 100 meters and lined up in the lane next to the girl who holds the fastest time in the nation, a senior from St. Thomas. Of course the senior ran away with the race, but once she established her lead, my girl ran with her the entire race, and ended up in 3rd and 1.15 sec behind. We can't wait to see what 2 more years holds for her.

Having a daughter who is capable of running very fast could indeed come in handy some day especially in south Florida!

Congratulations there proud dad, give her a big hug from Uncle Freebird and buy her a compass so she'll know which direction to run in! I mean north to the point she can be in the South again where she can run for fun instead of for her life!

Now will somebody tell me why I can't use the smiley faces and the "just kidding" emoticons when you just use the reply box at the bottom of a post?

Very cool.....
Easy to get caught up into ain't it? Our friends 15 YO blew away the regional records last season. She's a modest country girl..."I just like runnin"....
Congrats to yours...

I don't want to mess up this thread about a dad who loves his daughter, but how do you get emoticons onto a response without using the quote button?

Yup, hugs to her from all of us! Are her starting blocks set up 1000% right? Races can be won or lost at those starting blocks.

Thanks everyone. I'll pass on the congrats to her. And Garett, funny you mentioned the blocks. She joined the team late because she was doing travel soccer, which has always been her sport. She wasn't comfortable with blocks and had never used them before, and didn't use them at all until her 3rd meet. Yesterday was only the 3rd time she has used them, except for in practice. She said after her race that she forgot the "dry faze" and stood up too early. Track talk I guess, but we saw that she did come up early and we think it slowed her down. Anyway, lots of time. 2 years left.
