Default Favorite Buffet song?

If you're like me, it changes from week to week.....this week its "Pascagoula Run".

PS: I always thought "Blonde Stranger" would make a great boat name.

I have SO MANY of his songs that I LOVE but the very first one that comes to mind (besides Margaritaville -sp?) is "Son of a Sailor Man".

BTW ~ ever listen to SIRIUS station "Margaritaville"!? It's GREAT!!!

Its hard to pick a favorite from so many great songs, but "A Pirate looks at 40" is the first to come to mind.

Only nine more years till this song has more meaning.

Oh...and "Trying to Reason With Hurricane Season" is another favorite.

LOL, "FREE BIRD"!!!

Hail far, that is a Buffet song ain't it? I tend to drink a little bit when I listen to Buffet, but I swear I always hear that one at least in my head!

My favorite Buffet, believe it or not, was a CD he cut with Christmas music a few years back. It makes a parrothead deck the halls, and and fa-la-la-la=la fall face down in his cheeseburger in paradise!

In 2007, it'll be A Pirate Looks At Forty since I will be.

In the past, Coast of Marseilles was a song for my wife and me when we were dating (now with 3 kids, it's probably, "We Are the People Our Parents Warned Us About.")

I'm also a fan of "Quietly Making Noise" -- "glass paks on a hot Mustang, a Telecaster with a twang."

"The Wino and I Know" is a good one too. "Schoolboy Heart," "Lone Palm."

As I've grown older, I tend to stay away from the "Songs You Know By Heart." Heard them tons. I'm a big Springsteen fan too, but I don't need to hear Born to Run again. A lot of those songs fit that bill now after 20+ years.

In the end, very few of his songs get switched off when they pop on the iPod.

Holy sh!t, when did I become a Parrothead? Time to quit the job and move to the Keys for "fishin' in pilins' and drinking green label each day."

I built an "Ultimate Buffett" playlist on my ipod from my numerous Buffett CD's. I was able to narrow the playlist down to ONLY about 200 songs. Now I have enough to drive from Atlanta to Ft Lauderdale and never touch the dial.

So what would I pick as favorite(s)? Heck, I this is tough. Probably One Particular Harbour, Island, Havanna Daydreaming, Boats to Build, and the classics on "Songs You Know by Heart". There are a couple on the new CD like Bama Breeze and Take the Weather that are growing on me.

My 18 year old son has slowing started becoming a Parrothead and I am very proud of him! Just bought him tickets to see JB in Atlanta in April as part of his HS graduation. I look forward to taking him to his first Parrothead Concert. Hope he is ready.

Oh yeah, did I mention Last Mango in Paris? First Look? Semi True Story?

"God's own drunk and a fearless man"

Love "Who's the blond stranger" and the line "How would Louis L'amour get me next to that girl.

"One particular harbor" is one of my favorites too.

I've always wondered about Buffett. That guy has been selling that dream for close to 40 years. And he is one of the few people that can afford to live the life he sings about..but yet he is more involved in opening restaurants and chain stores..to sell the dream some more.

Interesting. Maybe that dream ain't that great after all?
