Default THT Smoking Quitters Club - daily reports

dazz is first in (this was his idea), I'm second.

http://www.thehulltruth.com/forums/t...ts=33#M1437103

Daily reports/fears/aggravations/sucesses posted here.

For my part - If I slip and have a smoke, I'll buy a wheel for the first five people that join our little challenge and have not slipped yet, so that would be dazz and the next four after me.

My deal is a big agressive, but to join the club - the ante is minimum of one wheel if you slip. I want at least 20 people to sign on to this thread.

cost of one wheel = 6 days of my smoking habit so even if you are poor, you can afford the ante here.

sorry wiley, I hope you don't sell any wheels from here.

who's in?

I just got to work and saw this thread.
Ran back to the car, wacked a patch on which I had all ready bought in preparation for this.

Its going to be a long day. But it will be worth it. I just finished a 20 minute coughing session which happens most mornings, It will be great to wake up without it.

Has anyone tried Zyban? I bought that as well, It says not to quite smoking straight away when you start Zyban. I wonder if you can take Zyban and use a patch at the same time?

I'll probably get in but a little early yet. Just started taking Chantix today and target "quit" date is 7 - 10 days from now. Anyone ever tried Chantix? I tried Nicotrol a few months ago and still have a supply. Just didn't work for me.

Just keep trying! Save the money and buy something for yourself later! It worked for me, 1/23/06 I put them down and I'm still good with it! Good Luck and keep trying! Smoking sucks! You'll see what I mean about 1 month after you quit! KEEP TRYING!!

Good luck to all of you. I'm rootin' for you all the way.

Put mine down on 1/4/06. Haven't picked one up since. Haven't really missed them either. The triple bypass helped with that though... Do kind of miss the 30-minute caughing session every morning.......NOT!!!

Hang in there guys. After the first 3-weeks to a month it starts t\getting easier.

I quit on Dec 1 last year, cigarettes that is, I still smoke cigars but am careful not to inhale.

I woke up at 3 am so short of breath it scared the he11 out of me. I put on a patch that my wife had left over and have never looked at one since. Used the patch for a week. I never coughed while smoking and I have been a 2 pack a day or more for 50 years. Getting better every day, have a long hill by the house and can walk right up, no stopping and good breath at the top.

I salute you guys who have quit...dumbest thing I ever did was start, but it was cool back in the 50's right?

Dick

Evernic, just fire up those 225 efi mercs and smell that smoke, it will keep you away for the cigs I am not a smoker but watched my father ruin his health with that s#it. I encourage everyone of you to quit and enjoy a lung full of fresh air

I quit 1973, after smoking Luck Strike for 15 years. Best thing I ever did, except marry my wife, 43 years ago.

So it can be done, if you WANT to.
