Default Should I be worried about rental car reservation?

Going to Anchorage in about 10 days. Will be travelling Alaska for about 16 days. Anyway....I booked my rental car with Avis back before their was a car shortage and when the rates were $30 a day. Now...I see the rates have went up to about $250 per day if you can even get one.
Should I be worried my car will be given out to a much higher paying customer? I called the Avis Airport rental car booth and they confirmed my reservation yesterday but still...
What do you guys think?

Yes you should be concerned. Hopefully avis comes thru for you. Heck my spouse flew to Mia for 245 on 24 hour notice. Car which she was ecstatic to get from thrifty.... Was $625 (4 days)

I have the same concern as I booked two summer trips including car rental about 6 months ago. First trip is to NY next week, 2nd is to Minneapolis in July. Fingers crossed. I imagine they will have something available, hoping only upgrades are available.

I’ve flown twice in the last month. Avis/Budget in DTW was fine. Car was kind of crappy though. It was no big deal as wife wasn’t with us. She would have complained. Had a great rental from Alamo in ORD 2 weeks ago. Clean car, fast service. Sticking with Alamo for June trip to SLC.

Just went through this is in Colorado. Booked a “full size SUV” ahead of time for a great rate. Got there, and all they had was a crappy little 4 cylinder 2wd suv that they offered for that price. Well there was the upsell. They had one Jeep Grand Cherokee left on the lot that was I guess a size up from what they considered a full size SUV. Arguing was no use, that was a “premium SUV” even though the vehicle they tried to give me was not in the category of full size suv. I could go down in size for the same price but not up. It was quadruple the price. I had no other options as we were skiing and 2wd was not going to do. Had that single vehicle not been on the lot, I would have been screwed and had to try to find one elsewhere. They overbook and don’t give 2 shits. Whatever is on the lot when you get there is what you get your pick of. Hope it works out.

I’ve only rented a car maybe a dozen times but every time there was a problem. Every time.

Honestly...at this rate, I would take anything. I'm staying on paved roads. But I just don't want to be stranded for 17 days without a car....

I had the opposite happen in AZ a few weeks ago, we booked an economy car and they gave is a Jeep Gladiator. It didn't handle too poorly considering it has the aerodynamics of a brick.

Basically very low to no inventory where I was (Central Florida) and IF they would actually make a reservation they would follow up with we'll know for sure if its available when you get here. Apparently people tend to keep the vehicles over their reservation time. This was every agency from Orlando, Cape Canaveral down to Indian river county. I was stranded and ended up renting a uhaul pickup truck to get around town which wasn't too bad, just keep the millage low.
