Default Charcoal grill that lasts?

Can anyone recommend a quality charcoal grill that will last more than 2 seasons? I'm tired of replacing the charcoal tray every couple of years on the Char-Grillers that I've used in the past.

The obvious choices are a Weber kettle that will last quite a few years, or a Big Green Egg, for a ton of money, that will last forever

I have a 24” ceramic fake egg made by Pitt Boss, 5 years old. I use it frequently, stays out 365 days a year in the Northeast with just the stock cover. Shows very little sign of wear. I could not be more satisfied......

DIY

A giant terra cotta pot and two different sized grill grates should do the trick.

I've had a Webber Kettle since I was still in college. Probably over 30 years now.

Weber kettle. Nothing will last unless it’s taken care of however.

I've been eyeballing the newer Weber Kamado grills ( Weber Kamado E6) and think it has a lot of potential. Benefits of the Kamado style without the high weight penalty and risk of ceramic cracking. I've got a Weber kettle that's 15+ years old and still in great shape. I also feel like Weber stands behind their products. I've got a couple of Rec Tec pellet grills but I'm pondering switching back over to charcoal just for something different.

Webber Kettle, about a $100 I pjs ten years ago. Sits outside all year no cover looks near new and it’s cooked a lot of food. One at the summer home is probably 20-25 years old and still cooks like a champ all summer. Really can’t go wrong.

Even weber has limit in humid wet southeast.
But, has 10 yr warranty on rust thru. Weber has excellent support and warranty service.

Will last forever in CA or AZ.

Get a hinge from unknownbbq.com, and a heavy stainless cook grate from killa grilla

BGE. I bought a Large in 2016 and a minimax in 2018 when I’m only grilling a few things or need both. I will never go back to a gas grill again.

My Weber kettle 22" one touch has lived on Cozumel for 7 years. The one touch "blades" are rusted through. Sent Weber an email Thursday night. Got a reply and shipping information before noon on Friday.
