Default Princestock

While I traditionally dislike the SB hype, especiallyt he halftime shows, and am not a big fan of his music, I have always admired the talen Prince possesses on guitar.

I thought he did a good job tonight, all told. He had the stones to perform in the pouring rain, purple rain even , and that is a very difficult thing to do when you are burnin' the frets.

Well done.

Big Al
I would have liked him to do all of "All Along The Watchtower"

Wow. I thought it was flat. In my house the concensus was that it was the worst halftime show ever.

The mixing was horrible, and the music didn't connect (with us). The back up gals were hot though .

I wasn't impressed with his guitar playing in the halftime show. I think he spent more time making guitar noises with distortion and feedback, rather than playing actual notes. He did some riffs that let you know he possesed some decent talent, but I don't think that was displayed in the halftime show. He basically seemed rusty to me.

I confess I had never listened to his music before, at least not knowingly. I never got beyond his photographs and that wierd name thing. I had heard Rodney Carringtons version of Purple Rain, ha ha...

However, I was pretty impressed with the guy, and I started out prepared to hate him. If he had a serious collection of blues out, I would probably buy it. I could listen to the guys music if I didnt have to look at him playing it.

But hey, I kinda liked Jimmy Ray, too...

I agree, I guess I expected him to perform like he did when he was younger. It was a real disappointment in our house.

Good or bad, Prince didn't play much Prince music. Hendrix, Turner, Foo Fighters. Where were the Prince songs. How about Chevrolet sponsoring the halftime show and Prince sings" Little Red Corvette" How could you miss that opportunity?
