Default Used vinyl record price guide ?

Does anyone know of an on-line vinyl record price guide that's in the ballpark for realistic values of used records?

I have a record collection primarily from the 1970s and some from the 1980s that I would like to get rid of. I would've expected that each record wouldn't be worth more than a couple dollars. I randomly took one out of the collection (Pink Floyd "Animals") and looked it up and some sites are showing this record as having sold used for hundreds of dollars.

I'd piece them out and put on ebay.

will be a bit more work but you'll have more $$ in your pocket.

floyd, LZ, beatles, CSN, elton john, sabbath, ect... people will pay out the ass for original pressings.

Have a list of what you have? I'd be interested in some.

That's what I was thinking about doing, but I first need to determine a realistic price.

Discogs.com is probably the best resource for pricing old records.

Value is going to be highly dependent on condition.

The condition of the vinyl and the condition of the jacket, and if the jacket still has it's plastic sheath and if there was inserts and what condition those inserts are in.

And then what stamping it was and was there any flaws in the stamping, engravings or jacket. etc etc etc

When looking for "what's it worth" I always go to "Completed listings" on eBay. Look for comparable item that sold..... and that is approximately what it's worth. The joy of a free market economy.....

This ^^^ I had a bunch from the 60's and 70's that I'd written my name on the covers bc we used to lend them to friends and wanted to be sure we got them back. Most of the good ones were well-used and had their share of scratches. I brought them (2 milk crates full) to 2 different local record shops and walked away with about $40. I didn't have any that matched up to the ones you see selling for big bucks and have been wanting them gone for a long time. OP, see if you have any unique ones in good shape and list them on ebay.

I have a copy of a 2019 Goldmine Record Price Guide. PM me your e mail address and I'll forward you a copy. You can also look on Discogs website, but in can be a pain in the ass because you have to find your version which means trying to read the runouts on the record itself. Also, send me a list I might want to take some off your hands.

same as baseball cards and other collectibles.

I still have my baseball cards (late 60s and early 70s), and albums. My Black Sabbath is pretty "crackly" it was played so many times. Yes, ELP, Led Zep, etc. All sitting in a closet for decades!
