If lightning grounding and utility is bonded together, doesn't it make it easier for lightning to backfeed??

I would say yes depending on what you call back feed.

Lightning will follow any circuit, even a ground. If the "ground" and "neutral" are bonded together, makes backfeed to your sensitive device even easier.
