Default Creepy story thought I would share............

This story came up with someone else today so I thought I would post it. Long story short my wife and I were 18 in 1975 just started dating she lived at home with her dad. I stopped by during the middle of the day when she was home by herself. We actually were just watching TV on the couch but it started raining so we started closing the windows including the utility room. No AC in her house back then even though it was Fort Lauderdale Florida. We return to the couch and a few minutes later we heard some soda bottles fall over in the utility room that we were just in to close the windows.

this was no more than 10 feet from us and I rushed to the utility room door and I heard someone desperately trying to get out the exterior door removing the chain lock and opening a door that did not have a door knob on it just a stem I pause 4 maybe 5 to 10 seconds entered the utility room he was gone. I went to the back yard and the front yard and ran up and down the street and saw nobody he vanished. Here's where it gets sick. He was in the house before I got there and then moved himself to the utility room where we had previously been closing the Windows like I said at that time he had to walk within eight feet of us on the other side of a wall and enter that room from the back of the house where he was hanging out and head broke in originally. So when I got there not only did he not leave he moved forward to where we were.

I looked everywhere I could not find him then I noticed her car door was ajar. He had taken her Coppertone suntan lotion and wrote all kinds of nasty things on the seats like come Queen only the other spelling. Never did find out who it was there were no vehicles nobody saw anything in her neighborhood cops couldn't come up with anything and what really ticks me off was her dad was really ticked off that we called the cops. I have no idea he just hated the fact that we called the cops. To this day I have no idea who it was there wasn't exactly a lot of guys in her neighborhood that it could have been but thank God I showed up I would hate to think what would have happened. Obviously he was in the house when I arrived but obviously like I said didn't even slow him down he was still working towards us till he knocked over those soda bottles and bolted. I would give anything to have caught him but I paused for a little too long before opening the door.
this came to mind because my son had a friend that's a similar story just happened . The good news is the boyfriend chaste the guy down and caught him he was in his Whitey tighties he told his girlfriend to call the cops and bring me some shorts LOL Anyone else been down this road?

In early 1970s my mom went to pick us kids up from somewhere, during middle of day. My dad was taking nap in his bedroom. No one locked doors then. His truck was in driveway. He woke up....there was a man in his bedroom. He asked the man "how did you get in here". Guy said " your wife let me in". Dad chased the guy out the house.
Called sheriff, they came out. Looked over the house.....several windows had been unlocked....guy had planned to come back. There were footprints in flower bed under one of them on side of house

In 1990s, house behind my parents caught fire while owners were out of town. The cause was someone trying to break into their safe using a torch from their garage. The person..turned out ....was wanted for murdering an elderly people in another coastal community a few days earlier. Stole their car, money ,etc. After finding cigarette pack in our backyard, it turns out that person had been in my parents fenced backyard first, and in our shed. But decided to hit the house next door instead when probably could see it was uninhabited , ie no lights on, from my parents yard.

1991 or 1992 or so

in college in a small town on east Texas with a roommate living in a small 2 story A frame house doing the "country thing" and leaving the doors unlocked all the time.....we lived on a piece of property that was right in town, but it was at the end of a dead end street with 3 acres and a creek that ran through it and then some railroad tracks through the woods and then more woods and then the sticks

right across the street was woods, on our side up the street was mostly woods until up near the intersection on the main street and across the street about 50 yards up was a small trailer park set back from the street and in back of the property was more woods and the creek

so we were right in town, but we could make as much noise as we wanted and have a ton of people over and no one cared

I get up one day on a Monday and head to class and I was gone for a couple of hours and then my roommate would have been in class, but he would get out of his and be home about an hour before I get home from mine

so I get home that Monday and he and I hang out for a bit downstairs and then we decide to go pay bills (small town you can go pay in person in less than 30 minutes for all your bills) so I go upstairs and there is one of my brand new socks filled with change (like coins) and so I yell down to my roommate "hey dickhead thanks for the sock full of change" and he is like "huh" so I say cool then it is mine

he comes upstairs and looks at the fake beer can he has (that of course he is not closing the fake top on) and looks for the $100 dollar bill he had from his tips the night before at work and can't find it so he looks in his waiter smock and in his pants pocket and can't find it.....then we look around and realize that some other stuff is all strewn about like a rolling papers box that he kept some trinkets in and some cheap Mexican silver jewelry and his Benjamin BB Gun was missing too

so we figured out that someone had come in while we were in class and had stolen $100, a BB Gun, and some cheap Mexican Silver Jewelry and had left the sock full of change.....years later I started to think that maybe the guy had been in the house when my roommate had gotten home and the change in the sock was not to steal, but it was to be used to crack my roommate in the head with if he had gone upstairs before the guy got out of the house because my roommate did not have a car only a bike so the guy would not have heard him pull up in a car getting home and there were not front windows to see out of upstairs

lucky the guy missed our real guns so we decided we would need to start locking the doors and that was that we did not tell the cops, because what are you going to do call the cops and tell them you were leaving the doors unlocked and be on the lookout for a $100 bill, a BB Gun and some cheap Mexican Silver crap......ok yea they will be right on that

so I had a car and my roommate starts to keep his bike inside so it will not get stolen.....Wednesday comes that same week and my roommate had loaded his Remington 1100 and put it under the couch next to his bed downstairs and I had done nothing because I figured if they come back I will not be home or Charles will shoot them

Charles is sleeping in for his morning class and I am at my class and Charles keeps hearing the dishes being rustled around in the kitchen and thinks it is the cat up the counter and finally he sits up and is going to throw a shoe or something at the cat through the pass through that goes from the living room into the kitchen and when he sits up there is a 40yo bummie looking white guy claiming down off the counter that had just broken in through the sliding window in the kitchen behind the sink

Charles yells at him WTF are you doing in my house and lucky for the guy the back door was out of the kitchen just to his right and as Charles is grabbing the shotgun and running towards the kitchen the guy is out the back door and running across the creek....Charles runs out and levels the gun on him and starts blasting away

I come home about 20 minutes later to Charles all amped up and looking around the yard and he tells me what is up so I say well clearly this person has been sitting in the woods and knows out schedule because he came in right in the period of time when you and I would be gone for about 80 minutes while we were suppose to both be at class before I got home if you had not been sleeping in and had your bike inside

so we hide the bong and the weed after we smoke out outside and head to the cop shop and tell them the story and they look at us like we are crazy and tell us to go home and someone will be down in a bit so we head home and about 15 minutes later a couple of cops show up and they are clearly expecting to come in the house and see where Charles had panicked, grabbed the gun and shot a hole in the ceiling or the walls

so they start looking around and see what is up and then go across the creek and they are looking at the trees and seeing pellet holes in a bunch of the trees about butt high and they are asking Charles "damn you really did shoot at him huh" and Charles tells then yea I even thought I heard him jump and yelp and scream ouch

so they look around a bit more to satisfy their curiosity (being nosey about 2 college kids) and finally come over and ask us if we had more guns at the house and we tell them yes and what we have and they say well that is good for your protection because we are going to need to take your shotgun for evidence because legally in Texas you cannot shoot someone running away in the day (only at night) which I knew to be true so I tell them well if the guy comes in and wants to file charges on Charles for that you better tell him to just leave and that will be the best thing he can do in his life because if someone thinks they can sit in the woods by my house and pattern me and break in 2 times in 3 days then file charges for getting their ass shot off well I will get the report from the charges filed and I will make sure they never make it to court to testify....the cops say they understand and to come down in 4 or 5 days to get the shotgun back......4 days later we went and got it back and then went to the pound a block over and got 2 big dogs (Homie and Rebel) a Merle Dane and a Cattle dog type mutt.....the Dane was a chick magnet and homie had a story of his own where the pound said they would not let us have him right then because they thought he was someone's dog, but those people were not claiming him so come back in 2 days

then he ran away for about a week and then showed back up and then one Thanksgiving when my brother was in town he was bugging my brother sleeping on the couch to go outside and my brother let him out and he ran off until the middle of the next summer when I got a call one morning from someone downtown that said they had my dog and I said I can hear my dog outside barking and they said this is not your big white and merle and brown dog with the collar with your name and I realized what was up and said oh yea that is mine and went and got him.....he was FAT I think whoever had him was chaining him up and he finally got away again and after we got him back he never ran off again because he realized it was better living with us and the volleyball court and all the parties and girls (even though Rebel got more attention)

Last summer I stayed at my girlfriend’s house who lives in a little seaside town, with connected buildings. She has the top 3 floors of one building with her bedroom and master bath on the top floor. Just as we were falling asleep, we heard what sounded like someone walking on the roof. I look up and there is a dude looking down the skylight.

There was only one way he could get up there and I beat him to it. Cops came flying in as I was screaming at the guy to come down so I could kick his ass. It was some 22 degenerate and his buddy.

In the late 50s My grand mother lived in a big 2 story house in Atlanta , My grand father had passed away a few years earlier so she lived alone. My dad gave her a 22 pistol that she kept in her night stand for protection. One evening she was up late reading a book in bed and saw someone thru her bedroom window. and Her bed room was on the second floor! Someone had climbed onto the roof of the front porch!! She grabbed her pistol and went out into the hallway to go down stairs to call police. As she walked towards the stairs she saw a man outside the window at the end of the hall.. She froze in fear. The hall window was open and the man pulled the screen off and started to climb in. Well Granny wasnt gonna let that happen and shot at the man!!. He fell back and rolled off the porch roof landing on the concrete front walkway. Granny ran down stairs and called the police. When they arrived they found the creep hiding in the bushes beside the porch, Granny had shot him in the knee cap and he had broken both legs when he landed ion the walkway.. Come to find out he was a "beat nick" as she called him who live in a old house with a bunch of other lowlifes in the neighborhood and had broken into several housed in the area .

Back around 1991, there was a string of church burnings in Florida. I was sleeping at my girlfriend's house. Her room was in back, and widnows were open all night. Around 6AM we got blasted out of bed by sound of fire engine horn blaring. The church behind us was on fire! The serial arsonist had passed right by our bedroom window.

A few years ago a 20 something guy left the bar at the end of my block walked up the street and collapsed drunk in front of a neighbor across the street doorway. City street townhouses. He woke up around 3am thinking he was outside his home and tried to open the door. Couldn’t get it open so started beating the door down with some tools in a bag he had from work. An older lady and her mother lived in the house.

My next door neighbor( works for one of our three letter agencies) hear the noise grabs his gun and boxers and runs out in the middle of the street. By this time the guy had the door open and about to step inside. My neighbor is screaming at him to get down or he’ll blow his F ing head off.

My neighbors girlfriend called PPD frantic in the meantime making sure they don’t shoot the naked man in the street with the gun. Cops arrive and arrest the dude. He was having some alcohol issues and ended up doing some time.

I asked my neighbor afterwards what would you have done if he stepped inside? Blown his head off.

One time there was a group of kids camping in the woods who were all killed with a lead pipe, one of us was there and saw the entire thing but any records of this incident have vanished.

A house we stay in at the beach was built in the 1920's. A woman died in the house. Frequently while staying there we hear music. We have also had doors which we know were closed and locked when we went to bed, be standing wide open in the AM. Windows we know were closed open and frequenlty here things that go bump. Lights frequently flicker or strobe. Every time we investigate, we find nothing. Nothing has ever been stolen or missing, although sometimes things are moved around a bit.

Our first house in Cumming GA, I was upstairs playing video games about 10pm one night when I hear the dogs (two big labradors) go nuts downstairs and rush down.

Apparently some guy had walked up to the front door in the dark and had opened the door and walked in...only to be met at the threshold by both of the labs.

He immediately bolted and was backing his truck out of our driveway and pulling away when I walked out the front door carrying a bat.

We were lucky those dogs were on the ball...as my wife was asleep on the sofa about 15' from the front door when the guy walked in.

So we called the cops and they caught up to him lost in the back of the neighborhood trying to find the exit.

Here's where it gets scary...

He was drunk and high, from North Carolina, and was looking for his ex-wife who had left him and come to her parents house in our 'hood.

He didn't know which house...only an approximate location...so he was going door to door looking for her...and his truck was full of guns and knives and pill / booze bottles.

I don't like to think what might have happened if he mistook my wife for his ex-wife asleep on a sofa.

We learned two important lessons that night...1) lock the front door at night and 2) we'll always have at least one big dog in the house.

I pity the fool who tries to walk in our house now...Maverick and Jack (male german shepherds) acknowledge and approve anyone who comes through the door now days...

That was such a scary post, someone should dig it up. So scary, hard to believe it was true.

There is more stuff science doesn't understand than it does. Incidents of this nature are found in all cultures.

1974
Im 7.
We live in a mobile home...aka trailer.. In a small corrupt town with corrupt PD. My father is out of town. Drives a truck.
My mom gets me and my sister up and puts us in a closet. Tells us to be very quiet.
She smelled cigarette smoke outside the window around midnight. Glanced out and saw top of man's head pacing under her window.
If you know trailers in the 70s they were thin. I"m sure the dude heard the movement in the house and we could hear leaves rustling. He is under the house.

Cops were called. Ther are only 3 cops in town. 2 show up. The one that didn't show up had a history of hitting on every woman in town. I learned later my father and he had a heated confrontation in front of the police station with him in his patrol car/out of uniform.

Cops come inside, look around.
Accusations of an over worried mother were leveled. My mother implores them to look under the trailer or leave. They spend 30 seconds outside....yell in that nothing is there and leave. Small town's finest.

More leaves rustling 30 minutes later.

My mother gets zero sleep. Small pistol on the couch and lots of coffee.

Next morning there are obvious footprints pacing at window and cigarette butts. Small towns finest come back and take polaroids.

I learned later there wad a second confrontation over telephone with skeevy PO and Sherriff deputy showed up a few days later and stayed a few hours talking with my parents.
Couldn't prove it, but my parents both believe the skeevy PO was stalking.
