Default HDTV on your Laptop or Other Computer

For anyone that wants to watch HDTV on the go or on your computer at your desk there is a nifty little USB stick that makes it all possible for around $100. I have one, I use it with my laptop, it is phenomenal! Problem…it makes watching crappy programming in HD irresistible. Lastnight I actually watched an entire show of Gonad O’Brian, right after watching David Alphabetman. I hang my head in shame.

Note: this unit is for real computers only. iApply owners will want/need to upgrade to a real computer.

I’m lucky because the Sutro Tower is only a little higher than me, across the bay. Almost all TV and radio is broadcast from the Sutro Tower. Maybe I'm not lucky because I'm geting radiated?!? Anyways, I get great reception on the little telescoping antenna that comes with the HDTV/USB tuner. There are more HD and digital channels around me than I was aware of. My DirecTV tuner box does NOT pick then all up, including CBS in HD. There are more than 30 over the air digitals station now in the San Francisco area, many in HD!

This thing receives regular analog TV, digital TV, and HDTV. It also gets some kind of radio but I haven't even played with that part, yet.

Note: HD signal processing requires a crap load of CPU resources. Many laptops don’t have the oomph to get it done. My laptop has an Intel duo core CPU, so I can add the CPU speed of each side together for an approximate oomph factor, this per the product’s faq on the Pinnacle website.
