Default Are you tired of Fauci?

I am a physician and I am tired of Fauci. Here is a lifelong government bureaucrat who acts like an authoritative expert yet he does not really practice real world medicine and is not in the trenches treating patients who are sick. He spouts off and acts like he knows the answers to questions when he simply does not. I mean, at first, he authoritatively told us that masks were not useful, necessary, or advised in preventing Coronavirus last winter. Now he acts like masks are the end all of Coronavirus. Tony, which is it?

He acted just as authoritatively when he said they were not recommended last winter as he does NOW when he says they save lives. He says the Vaccines are not what is reducing the prevalence of Coronavirus cases which thankfully have dropped dramatically. He claims that this is just the natural course of the disease process. Uh huh. Whatever you say, Tony. I say that if 10% of the people who are at risk for getting the disease are now vaccinated, and then another 5 to 10 % who have already had the disease are no longer getting new cases, then we should expect a reduction in Coronavirus cases.

Here is what is said in today's USA Today:

When the pandemic will end remains a mystery. Dr. Anthony Fauci says it's "possible" that Americans will still be wearing masks in 2022. Marty Makary, who teaches at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Bloomberg School of Public Health, doesn't see it that way."At the current trajectory, I expect Covid will be mostly gone by April, allowing Americans to resume normal life," Makary says in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece.

Fauci always tends to be more doom and gloom instead of practical real world medicine. As a physician, I am skeptical of a medical "authority" like Anthony Fauci who is a physician who does not treat real patients but is a "know it all."

Anthony Fauci is not paid to be right, as most doctors are. He is paid to just authoritatively spout off whether he is right or wrong. It's a pretty easy gig if you can get it and don't care about helping folks and treating real patients.

I agree with OP 100%.
Isn't he now advocating wearing 2 masks.
I believe masks are a feel good placebo.
The difference between an expert and an idiot is that an expert wrote a book about it.

Tony is short for Anthony. Dr. Anthony Stephan Fauci is his full name.

When I see his face on TV I tune him out. Like OP mentioned, everything he says is some made-up theory crap. Where's the 'Science'!

You can say the same about the general sitting in the pentagon while the soldiers do the hard work in the field, what's your point, you're butt hurt, for some odd reason.

Kendall, you stated the case quite well.
Tony strikes me as a self serving opportunist.

Havent heard him speak in over 9 months at this point, so no Im not sick of him. Hes just another talking head on the news at this point. Who needs em.

I can see how that would be frustrating as a physician or medical professional.

How about he is advising as the more they learn from the data. No one really knows what is going to happen, much like listening to financial experts when we’re in a recession.
