Default Looking for feedback on Benelli SBE3

I've spent more time in a duck blind this season than the last 5 combined. My two boys are really getting into it. I am considering moving from the Benelli Nova Pump to a Benelli Super Black Eagle 3. Any first hand experience with the SBE3? We hunt saltwater mostly. I have two pump Novas that I'll eventually kick down to the boys when they are big enough.

Had a SBE2 and loved it. It's hard to go wrong with Benelli.

Haven't held the SBE3 yet but I also have a 2 for 5 years 500+ rounds a year not one issue
The new SBE 20 gauge might be my next purchase

worth every dime I spent on mine....know the super Vinci had came down in price when the 3's come. Would think the shooting difference is minimal between the sbe2, Vinci, and sbe3. I would go with whatever had the best price.

Most of my duck hunting friends shoot an SBE of some iteration-1,2 & 3's.. (I shoot a M1 Super90) We all love our Benellis. Personally, I think the SBE3 is uglier than homemade sin but looks aside, they're fine, fine shotguns.

Bought my son a SBE3 for his college graduation present. He had been using my 870 and wanted an auto. He has one full duck season with the SBE3 and loves it, no issues at all with the gun.

going a little different direction, i tried 2 of them brand new out of the box and had jamming issues on both, both sent back to benelli.

i gave those guns back and traded for the berretta a400 extreame. i love it.

main thing is what works best for you, fitment of the gun, and of course budget.

I recently bought the turkey version of the SBE3. I did buy a custom choke and custom loads, it patterns very well and looking forward to turkey season opening next month.

Read some issues with the SBE3 shooting high but not sure if that’s legit. Bought my 13 yo a new old stock SBE2 for $1,100 off Gunbroker. Saved a bunch of money over the SBE3.

I hunt waterfowl with a group of guys and there was one that bought an SBE3 and returned it a couple times and it never functioned properly. He eventually gave up on the gun and received a refund/credit towards something else. Another guy I shoot sporting clays with purchased one after using my SBE2 and he no longer has that one either. They might be sorted now but what I had seen of the early ones was not good.

I already own a Super Nova and Super Vinci, bought my SBE3 last summer.

We hunt seaduck on Long Island Sound (saltwater) so I don't baby my guns, no issues at all this hunting season went thru 1 case of shells.

I also purchased the SBE3 slug barrel and Nikon scope combo, very happy with the accuracy with Rem Accutip slugs.

Been shooting a SBE2 since it was released (2011?) . Early on shooting a couple flats a month, sometimes a couple flats in a weekend for most of the year.

In the past few years it only sees use in the blind which was ~ 12 box's a season.

The gun is a workhorse. It doesn't need to be cleaned (and isn't), it points great, and the only time it failed was after a submersion when it froze shut.
