Default FL Keys, May Marathon Trip

King Smurf and I are heading down in May. Not sure on the exact dates. We will be driving down. Any suggestions for guides to go out with? We will be on a tight budget and want to catch fish. All species.

A possibility of staying a night in Maimi and/or JAX is possible with the long driving. If anyone wants to meet up for a THT dinner, chime in.

Check out the Florida Georgia regional thread. I am going to Marathon in March and asked for guide recommendations. Several good responses. I have a charter booked for a day in early March. I'll let you know how that goes.

Sure you will have a great time. May is one of the better months to go in my opinion.

Thanks Bob's Cay! Yeah, I checked out the thread. King Smurf is also going down in March with his family. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Inshore guides are obviously much cheaper than offshore, and more fun too, if you dont mind not going for dolphin and tuna. May is a great time for almost all species. Flats guides all charge the same really so in that sense it doesnt matter. Most of the ones at reputable marinas are probably ok. I have used a few different guides all sight unseen and it always worked out pretty well. I rent a boat now, its more fun to DIY.
