Default Toilet Fishin

Going there in a few minutes, armed with my trusty 3' long, flexible shafted, four pronged, trigger activated pick-up tool. Usually used for picking up small dropped parts when working on car motors. So anyway...
Woke real early, went to the head to drain the bladder, heard a plop but was still half asleep, so finished my evacuation and flushed as always( as demanded by she that must be obeyed) . Later on after coffee while searching for my $200.00, Titanium framed bi-focals, I realized I realized what the plop sound was.
Anyway, water doesn't go down fast anymore so I'm hoping the glasses are stuck in the turnaround at the toilet bottom. Wish me luck. Really don't feel like pulling the bowl off the floor (last resort). Any other suggestions?

I've got to figure any response you get at this time is to late, but I would have suggest for the wife to reach around up there. If her hand/ arm was to big then I would have suggested you bribe your six year old son, daughter or neighbors kid to give it a try. Then I would have pulled the toilet. Would I have tried using the 3' long, flexible shafted, four pronged, trigger activated pick-up tool (I've got one too!), no, no I wouldn't have. My concern would have been scratching the lense(s) on "my" $340.00 Titanium frameless reading glasses!

Now that is all done with, here’s the part I really want to know about. How the heck did your glasses end up in the toilet in the first place? Ok so you were in bed, got up because you needed to take a leak, do you sleep with your glasses on? When you sleep do you put your glasses in your PJ shirt pocket? Or were they on your face at the time of relievement and they fell off and you didn’t notice they fell off? (you're lucky, I don't even know which emoticons to use here?)

Now this brings us around to Monday morning, did you retrieve your glasses yesterday? Hopefully you didn't scratch them!

Garett.... I always fall asleep with my glasses on watchin the tube. As I was half asleep and the fact that the top of the glasses are good for 8 to 25 feet viewing, I did not realize that they were still on.

Anyway, pulled the bowl this morning ( after securing a new wax ring yesterday) and recovered the the specs that have now seen places that I never want to see in person.

Cost of wax ring $2.00
Cost of new glasses $200.00
Savings $198.00

Good to be handy around the house when you are a klutz like me.

Jennifer and Jim kept getting huge water bills. They knew beyond a
doubt that the bills weren't representative of their actual usage, and no matter
how they tried to conserve, the high bills continued. Although they
could see nothing wrong, they had everything checked for leaks or problems:
first the water meter, then outdoor pipes, indoor pipes, underground pipes,
faucets, toilets, washer, ice maker, etc. -- all to no avail.

One day Jim was sick and stayed home in bed, but kept hearing water
running downstairs. He finally tore himself from his sick bed to
investigate, and stumbled onto the cause of such high water bills.
Apparently this was happening all day long when they were not at home.
Knowing that few would believe him, he taped a segment of the
'problem' for posterity -- see attached video.

Afish... That is one hysterical video. Looks a lot like our house cat.

Tomorrows project is to install a safety lanyard on my glasses.
