Beaver problem

I have a creek in the back of my property and the beavers have dammed it up twice. We tore down the dam with a back hoe Friday. The little bastards have started another dam today about a 100 yards up stream. Any ideas besides bullets and traps?

Nope, either remove them which may not be legal (check state laws) or best option is to kill them.

You need to kill them to get rid of them.

From my experience, You only need to remove the leader, usually the largest one in the crew and the rest will leave. Done it several times on our property over the years. Its the only way that works other than trapping and relocating them all together.

Take some dranage pipes and lay them under the water. They will build on top of it and never figure it out.

if they are stopping up culverts use bull panel and some t-post and make an arch or horseshoe in front of the culvert and run the perforated piper trough the bull panel. Beavers will build in front of the panel and the water will drain trough the pipes.

Go out at night with a spotlight and 22. You'll solve the problem quickly.

Devils advocate here but what if you succeed in stopping them from building on your property but they move upstream or downstream off your property and build there?
I wouldn't want to kill such beautiful creatures either but don't see anyway to avoid that doomsday outcome. I don't think their on anyones endangerd list right?

Whacking them is the simplest. You might be able to create a beaver baffler and allow them to dam it anyway, but that’s not always a solution. It is a legit no lethal attempt. But, if they are falling trees that are valuable or could create problems, then lethal. Trap and relocate often results in dead beaver still. Sounds touchy feel good, but can be BS.

Call someone that traps them if you can not kill them. You can bust dam all you want and those suckers build it right back
We have a creek/swamp in back of our neighborhood and those that live along there battle it every now and then . Not a HOA issue but one time we did split costs to have someone trap them (probably been 20 yrs ago).
They still there
Y’all got alligators down there, get somebody to put couple those suckers in there
