Default Ammo Coming Back?

Had some ammo come in yesterday. Admittedly not some of the the more popular stuff being sought but seems encouraging. Georgia Arms had bulk .44 Rem Mag and SBR is keeping a good stash of .44 AMP.

My local guns shop has plenty of ammo, but the price is insane. 50 rounds of 9mm are $35.99.

I’m curious as to who is gouging us? Is it just the local shops making way more profit or our their suppliers jacking the prices on them and they are just passing it on? Either way we are getting screwed.

Supply and demand driven by political uncertainty.

Received an email last week from a major retailer SS109 .223 for only $40/20 round box. Limited quantities. WTF?

I think it may be time to sell some at these prices.

The real scary thing, and I encourage you to all watch...our president elect wants to ban ONLINE AMMO sales. Trying not to let this get political but January special election is important. If all 3 houses go the same way, it COULD be the end of online ammo sales. This would be absolutely devastating to duck hunters like myself.

Right now, no where within a 2 hour drive carries the ammo I use.

I ain't selling nothing. I got 1k of 223 brass FMJ last week for under .70 a round. Every time I find a decent deal I buy. Going to last awhile.

It isn't actually an AMT but the new remake of the original Pasadena Automag that they are reproducing in Loris SC. I ordered it 3 years ago and they started shipping week before last. Was hoping I would have it by Christmas but hopefully will be soon. Just stocked up some ammo while it was available. Interesting story. https://automag.com/

No doubt! I use Bismuth. None to be found locally. Had to order some online - $100 with shipping for 2 boxes of 3” #4. Had to use 2 shot on Woodies for our short T-Giving season.

Meh.

I'm good. Shot a couple boxes of 20+ year old Aguila 9mm through a G19 a few weeks ago. No issues whatsoever.

70 cents for a .223 round is insane, and I thought $1.00 for a 50 cal round was ridiculous.

It's really not a matter of not being able to get what you want, its the price.

Ive switched to BOSS bismuth a few years back. I currently have plenty, as our 2nd split starts Saturday. However it would be devastating to my ammo hoard to not be able to replenish, especially since they aren't available anywhere other than direct.

This is what I now use and i would be devastated if they eliminated online ammo sales.

If your local shops are price gouging, I would recommend you telling them that you understand their right to price the ammo however they like, but that you also have the right to take ALL your business somewhere else moving forward.

My local shop sells their ammo at the same price as they would Pre-Covid unless the manufacturer increases price. They have loyal customers that appreciate it, and will continue to support them long after this BS slows down... which it will.

Raising the price when supply is low is not price gouging. It is the market working as it should. It prevents the hoarder from buying up everything the seller has but allows the guy who NEEDS the ammo to still have availability to purchase. The other day when I deer season started I found myself with only one round of 30-06. All of the local stores were sold out and not sure when they would get more. But the guy in the next town had some for sale at a premium price. I was willing to pay the higher price because I NEEDED it. I'm thankful his price was a little higher so that ammo was available when I needed it!
