Default Boattrader Pricing

I'm curious what everyone thinks of their pricing to list a boat? Seems like the obvious choice is to post on FB, CL or here right? If you've posted on there and paid the fee, did you find value in what you paid for?

They also seem to funnel you with no choice into the highest-paid monthly plan, as you need to add a lot of photos.

What is their price?

Ever try anglersedgemarine? Bob charges a flat fee and puts your boat on all the sites. I've sold about 5 boats listed with him. Awesome guy.

Anglersedge is the best way to sell privately, sold 4 boats with Bob over the years, all for close to ask and in under 30 days. He is an advertiser here on THT

my experience was their website was outdated, noticeable downtime, low traffic/hits compared to even free websites/CL/FB

a lot depends on the type of boat you have, location, how motivated you are, etc.

some boats dont last a day on THT/CL/FB/etc

I'm about to list my boat and Boattrader is $149 for 6 weeks. Seems rich although the Craigslist and Facebook don't do anything for me. Likely going up here.

I think the $149 for six weeks with 12 photos and $199 for 12 weeks with unlimited photos is fair.

I am considering using it to market my boat, if THT doesn't work out.

I hate the thought of using CL and I am not a FB user.

For what itís worth I sold a 25 SeaCraft 3.5 years ago and 24 Regulator this year.

I paid for boat trader both times:
SeaCraft: one lead about 2 weeks into the listing he was a low baller.

Regulator: got 2 leads all were over a month after I listed the boat and already sold it.

While I personally look at boat trader To buy boats Iíll never spend money on a listing with them I found it a waste of money.

THT
3.5 years ago on SeaCraft I got all my beat leads from THT sold off THT

Regulator This year I made a beautiful listing got 1 call. The problem is on THT you canít bump there are so many listing you get pushed down in 1/2 day.

Craigs List:
This year sold the boat in 3 days full ask had 5-6 quality leads and when delivering the boat at the ramp was asked my 2 people if that was the boat from CL then at a traffic light asked again.

From my Experience CL, FB and a shitty THT add so people ask questions and bump you up is what you want.

Bob Filger is the best! He gets it done at the right price so if you want to sell call him.

Sold all of my boats and my brothers on boat trader. I don't even know how that other stuff works Craigslist Oh, I thought that's where you get robbed? Facebook no idea how they even do that. I'll stick to boat trader. On the other hand I have sold a couple of boats on the hull truth.

Hi, Capt..

Curious, why do you think it's a mistake to not use CL?

I am not against it, I just didn't want to get into the scammer thing, etc.

Boatrader and yachtworld both stink from a website perspective, seems never to work searches don't get saved, slow... Add to that brokers who leave boats that have sold years ago on there, and it is borderline useless. I sold two boats on FB this year, and fee and painless. CL is a disaster, but I did sell one boat on there years ago. If you are not in a hurry, give FB a shot you may be surprised.

Sounds like there's an opportunity for someone to make a platform that actually works and that people like using!
