Default Dolly Parton special

Is there a nicer, better celebrity around? I pay no attention to the bs published about people, but she seems to be a real person. World could use more people like her from what I’ve seen.

Dolly Parton is a Saint. She's right there next to Mr. Rogers.

She sends my kids a free book a month.

I've never heard a bad word about her. A saint indeed.

Well other than the hair and boobs, which she readily admits too. Which only makes her that much more endearing...

There’s a reason she has endured.

She's probably been married to the same person longer than any celebrity in modern history too. The rare occasions that her husband actually comes to anything she's at he has to have somebody in their inner circle verify that it's him because so few people recognize him. I always thought her letting the media run wild with their crazy theories about her and Kenny Rogers (or heck enter just about any male heart throb from the late 60's through the early 90's here) was very calculated. She focused on music while they were trying to come up with something to tear her down but her fan base refused to let it take hold. Modern celebs want to play damage control and buy into that type of control but she always seemed flippant.

The woman is an icon, a pioneer, hilarious, and somehow manages to pull off outlandish and humble at the same time.

a more apt description you're unlikely to find.

I just watched the show last night. Wonderful person, also just read where she donated $1m for Covid research, some of which went to Moderna's vaccine. Amazing person.

Only in America can a young girl from Pigeon Forge start with virtually nothing and succeed as she has.
Here in East Tennessee, everyone loved Dolly.

I recall an interview where Dolly said something like "If it bags, sags or drags, I'm gonna have it nipped, sucked or tucked." Gotta love that kind of honesty.

She's great, but I'm over the obvious lip synching. How freaking hard would it be for her to sit on a bench and actually sing!?

In the early 90’s Dolly promised every 7th-grade and 8th-grade student at her Junior High School she would personally give them $500 if they graduated from high school. She also stipulated they must tag a buddy who must finish also, This effort, called the Buddy Program, reduced the drop out rate for these two classes from 35% to 6%. . Several students went on to attend and Graduate from the local community college through a scholarship provided by her foundation

She's a national treasure. Be sure to visit Dollywood if you are in Northeast Tennessee. It is a wholesome, family-oriented amusement park.
