Default 381hp Toyota Tundra

That's alot of horses for a toyota. I hope they beefed up drive train to handle it. 400 ft lb of torque. Interesting.

Buddy of mine has an 06 Tundra XSP. Factory dual Borla exhaust and 18" wheels. It has I believe 281hp to the rear wheels and that thang will flat out run

There is a test of the new Tundra on the web. 0-60 low 6's and 1/4 in the high 14's. Those are impressive #s.

The crew cab model is huge.

Its about time they got it right. T-100, older Tundra were laughable. With in 2 years they should sell over 300K/year.

I have the older Tundra and Im not laughing. Outside of a brake TSB and oxygen sensor TSB the truck has been great. It is the perfect size for parking. Not too big, not too small and tows my 22 Mckee great. I do have to say that I wouldnt mind 381hp though.

I traded in my GMC 2500 for the 06 Tundra. I drive back and forth to NH alot (225mi). I figure I get about 40 % better MPG with the Toy. To be fair, my GMC had a power lift gate on it.

tThe 07 Tundra is a new design, rated to tow just over 10,000 pounds. Looks like a really nice truck should be out in February I believe.

606, The Tundra is a good truck. Its just laughable that Toyota called it full size. Real sales reflect that. They didn't make the same mistake this time. The new 07 is for real. Third times a charm.

I see. Well I will say one thing, the 22 is about all I want to tow with my truck. The neat thing is that the Tacoma is so big now that it really takes up where the old Tundra left off. Now if the optioned the 4.7 liter in the Tacoma that would be nice also.

What's the torque curve look like? I know you mentioned that 400 ft lbs was max, but at what RPM does it reach that max, and how much torque is it putting out at 1,000 RPM. I like a flat torque curve. In my dreams I own a diesel.

Don't keep your eyes closed for long. You will be sorry. I felt that way for near 30 years. Not even tools made at the J-A-PAN Company went into my toolbox. I made a living on prototype and tool and die machining for a few years. I would not work on IBM prototype jobs as they were in metric. The engineer I was assigned to had to convert the drawings. That's no BS. The flag posted on my solid oak, made in the USA toolbox was there for a reason.

Oh, and by the way..... Don't look at where your truck componets and drivetrain was built. You won't sleep well at night.

Just get some extra rear tires for that rig. I have an 05 double cab and it is pretty quick. 100 extra hp, even with the bigger truck is a lot. I would think they will have a deisel available in a couple of years.
