Default Any Mechanics Here..JEEP

I'm having some problems with my '96 Jeep Wrangler. It is stick shift and for about a week now when I take off 1st and 2nd gear the engine is kind of sputtering and then once in 3rd everything is fine. I dont really know how else to describe it besides it feels like a less severe case of "double clutching" yet I'm accelerating the whole time. As I said once in 3rd it is fine. Any ideas of what to check or change?? If you dont understand I will try to elaborate a little more.

does it feel go away if you go from 1st to 3rd? also do you get the sensation if you down shift to 2nd?

I doesn't carry over if I go from 1st to 3rd or if I down shift. It seems to only be happening on take offs or slow speed(0-2500 rpms), once I get up to about 2500 it starts running smoother.

I'm planning on getting it looked at but just thought it might be something I could do without taking it in.

How many miles?

SOunds like it might need a clutch.

165k, clutch replaced about 105K. Would the clutch effect driving when it is out? When I mentioned "double clutching" I just ment that it had that sound(enginewise) and feeling(bucking) but to a much lesser extent. When it is happening it is after I have shifted, the clutch is out and Im accelerating to speed.

It could still be a clutch and or pressure plate even with 60K on the new one.

Was the flywheel turned during the last clutch installation?

The sputtering you feel could be the clutch slipping and you get a vibration.
