Default NYC Subway Human Rats

Not real rats, the people. Here is a couple of guys that are awesome and they have been on Ellen, but everyone is in dead run and never even look their way. I would have stopped dead in my tracks and watched. That is what the videographer is pointing out

While I appreciate the talent, most people in the tube have places to be.

Hey buddy I get it. I think that's the point. It's not like that where I live. I've never seen people scurrying around that fast. Granteed I'm in the south and in a hurry the majority of time but not like these people

Place looks relatively empty compared to what rush hours used to look like.

NY'ers see somebody playing a guitar, playing 5 gallon buckets, a mariachi band, or a pregnant woman sitting on the floor with a "will work for food" sign at every station. Sometimes the pan handlers/entertainers get into fights over who gets the best spots. Just another annoyance on the way to work - no matter how good they are.

From someone who’s from NYC and has commuted on and off for the past 20 years. Two words. White Noise.

Also at one of the busiest stations - Times Square - with connections to many different lines. There are dozens of musical acts playing below ground, some quite good, but when you have to get somewhere you gotta move.

Used to see a guy playing flamenco guitar in the 23rd st station most mornings. Hell of a guitar player.
If I remember correctly they have to audition and be accepted to get a permit. The lady that plays the saw is pretty cool.

If a band was playing by the side of the road down your way, would you stop the car to listen, maybe miss a few traffic lights and get home 10-20 minutes later? Every single day?

I don't think you understand the life of the train commuter.

Not to mention the one thing you don't do in a place like that is stand around. The musicians may be nice people, but the drunks, druggies, pickpockets and random psychos looking to slash someone or shove them in front of a train are far from nice. If you may be a target, be a moving target.

So in your area you don't have rush hour when everyone is trying to get to work?

Misappropriation of White (and British) culture. Plain and simple! Almost as bad as calling a football team Redskins, or buying Aunt Jemimah syrup.

Walking in NYC is like driving anywhere else. Most people aren't out for a stroll...they're heading to work, heading home, heading to an appointment, etc.
