Default Anyone know about jet skis ?

Want to get one for the wife to use and take out solo. The things I think I want are fuel injection, 4 stroke, reverse / brake, not too fast, dependable and within 5 years old. Seems like the bigger more powerful ones are the ones with reverse. Many manufacturers, models, and years to concider. Anyone more knowledgeable than me on what is a good 1st jet ski for my wife ? Thanks in advance!

Sea Doo Spark is a great first ski. Not much I can say bad about them. We have 2 and they have been trouble free. We have 1 2up and 1 3up. The kids and wife love them. The financial investment was much less than some of our larger skis. Accessories are plentiful.

You'll have to get two of them unless she has friends to ride with as more then one person on a ski ...... well it basically sucks. Bought my first one back in the 80's, soon after the second one, and have had two Yamaha's ever since.

You will find SeaDoo Spark or Yamaha EX with braking. Kawasaki does not but they all do have reverse. Kawasaki offers a much more powerful motor 1.5L 4cyl 160 HP in its entry level ski. SeaDoo Spark is 60/90hp and Yamaha EX 100hp. I ended up getting a STX160 and a STX160LX. Having 1 is not as much fun as having 2 👍

I've had all brands of PWC's since my first in 1984. Stand up's and sit downs. Hot ski's and standard horsepower models.

My current PWC is a 2010 Yamaha EX1100 Cruiser which is simply the most dependable PWC in the retail market. In the last 10 seasons, it's never been in the shop. I have the nicest model, and I think that model's being sold presently for about $9K.

Mine was hitting a max speed of 54 mph.. But with an unhooked air filter, my 12 year old grandson had it running 58-59 mph with both of us on it in August. It's fast enough.

I have 2 2015 FX Crusiers 1 HO and the other SHO. If I were to get them today, they both would be HOs. The SHO is faster but not that much. I just change the oil and spark plugs once a year. We just river cruise sometimes at a pretty fast pace. The only problem with 2 is I can't ride by myself, I don't like leaving one just sitting at the ramp.

I also have a pair of 2014 Yamahas FX SHO. We freaking love these things! Me and my wife and kids ride them all summer. They run 70mph no issues and get there fast. Cheap to maintain, cheap gas easy to clean, east to ride. Yamaha all day long for me as we have had ZERO issues. Great bikes!

I had a 99 seadoo that I caught a bunch of fish with. The steering broke one day while I was a few miles offshore and I had to use my feet as rudders to get back in.

Personal experience is Yamaha tend to be a little more nimble while seadoo tend to be more stable feeling. Have a 2018 Yamaha VX cruiser now and it is awesome!! Reverse, breaks, simple controls, cruise, no wake mode, kid mode, fast enough and a blast to ride. Easily fit three and moves no problem with that weight onboard. Comfortable seat, storage is so so but enough anyway.

First you need a class on how to block a boat ramp and temporary dock for extended length of time.
There must be a class because so many are good at it.

Does skin cancer come as an option when you buy a jet ski?
