Default Sold my business...

Sold my business and now I'm wondering what I should do next. I'm 48, not ready to retire, and want to start another business but I'm drawing a blank as to what I want to do. I love developing products. The branding, marketing, landing distribution, trade shows etc. but in these uncertain times it seems a bit risky and travel is a pain in the ass. Anyone got any good ideas?

The world has changed pretty dramatically in the past 6 months. A lot of traditional businesses will have trouble going forward. Look at how people are spending money and develop something to leverage off it,

Lol I've got a couple friends who made millions making hand sanitizer and importing masks. That ship has sailed and I also know a couple guys who can't get rid of thousands of gallons of hand sanitizer.

This further proves that I have the wrong friends.

Congrats. Take some time before you leap into another venture. Let the dust settle on 2020 and see what the landscape looks like then.

The ink is still wet and I'm already chomping at the bit. I'll spend some time finishing my boat restoration but don't do well with idle time. I'll at least wait till after the election, who knows WTF is going to happen after that shitshow.

Let me cut to the chase. If you are asking here, you have two choices: Invest proceeds of sale in hookers and blow or open a wedding venue.

Lets just be brutally honest about the whole thing, I think we all know its not about "what will I do next", its really about "look at me I sold my business".

Srsly..no one on here can tell the OP what, if anything he should do next.

Right. Because if any of us have a sure thing business opportunity we will share it with him on this platform. Just because.

I think this could be classified as a humblebrag, just like the guy with shit in his bilge. Made sure to point out that the shit was in the bilge of his 34 Freeman. Like that matters.

Sure, I’m happy and relieved that it’s done but there’s some savvy and successful entrepreneurs here that might have some insight that is beyond my short view. Like it was said already, strange times we’re in. If there was no Rona and I knew Trump was going to get another four years I’d probably have a much easier time investing in a new project. I don’t believe that this is in fact the “new normal” so gearing something towards seclusion and death prevention doesn’t sit well.

And I didn’t say I sold my business and now I’m rich, just that I want something to do and I’m open to suggestions.

Take some to yourself, keep your powder dry and your eyes open. Opportunities and ideas will come along and you'll be ready.
