Default What Pigeon Forge TN needs is more Gokart tracks....

I'm going to be in Pigeon Forge for 1 night at the end of October so I was looking for something to do in the evening. I know there's a Buds Gun Shop just up the road in Sevierville so that's a possibility as I've bought "a few" guns from them online so I thought perhaps I should pay homage in person.

But then I noticed the number of "Go kart" places in Pigeon Forge. Holy Carp! There's 10 Go-kart establishments I could see on the main drag. What's the deal with that?

Been to Pigeon Forge one time. My ex, light in the loafers brother-in-law lives there. He was a performer at Dolly Wood. We went there to visit him. Didn't care for the place.

Myrtle Beach of the mountains

hit up the gun shop, find a nice hiking trail and top it off with a local brewery - that should fill the evening

LOL! only one shows ANY skid-marks or rubber laid down on the track! The rest are all pansy kiddie-rides!

It's a tourist trap. If you decide to try a kart track, watch the cars for a few laps before you take your turn. In every group, there is usually a really fast kart, and a clunker or two.

Lots of mediocre restaurants in the area. We have never been disappointed by Smokey Mountain Brewery. Try the Brewery “Ale” Steak.

Buds physical shop is garbage IMO. All tacticool nonsense. Everything on the floor has been handled to death. They do have a nice range. Time is better spent next door at Smokey Mount Knife Works.

When my wife and daughter wanted to hit the outlet shops, we dropped them off and my son and I made it our mission to find the fastest track. I ended up with a chipped tooth and my son sprained his ankle after a couple crashes. At the end of the day told his mom it was awesome. Cant remember the name of the best. But it was partially indoors.

took my two kids there (college age) last year. gave them each a choice of what they wanted to do for a whole day. daughter chose to hang in the woods and do zip lining and such. son chose go karts. there is one company that seems to own most of the tracks. we purchased a pass that allowed you to go to any/all of their tracks and ride as much as you wanted. started on the smaller karts and worked our way up to the real deal karts. some of the larger karts are real deal. I will never admit it to my kids, but i had a freakin blast. they even had their 75yo grandfather out there riding.
it's not something i would do every time i'm around gatlinburg/pigeon forge, but you gotta do it once.

^^^this^^^ for something else if you are looking for "non-woodsy" they have a little aircraft museum. It is kind of small but they have a few neat planes...... like Warbirds and couple of MIGs.

Pre-RONA I'd been multiple times. I usually stay in Sevierville right on the county line across from the upside down (looking) building. It's right on the main drag but away from the craziness so you can get around fairly easy. I'd usually spend a day in Gatlinburg (park once and walk), a day in Pigeon Forge, and a day at Dollywood (park for free at the trolley station and ride the trolley for front door drop off in a dedicated Dollywood-only trolley, unbeatable deal!) Yeah it's a tourist trap for sure but that's why you plan it out well in advance to not get caught up in all that. So much to do the go-carts were not even on the radar (I had several as a kid and everything they have is slower than anything I had!) As an adult, you go to Dollywood not just for the rides but the craftsmen they have there. Always mesmerized to watch the glass blowing, both as a kid and an adult.

We rented ATV's and went on a trail ride in the mountains with a guide. The family loved it. Mtn Trax I believe the outfit is called in Townsend, not too far away. Not affiliated with them but definitely fun.
